Ok few questions before I go ahead any help please.
8oz jam jars will i be ok to mix lye and water in these ? Add a little at a time and stir with stainless steel spoon ? Once i then allow that to cool i add it to my mhrb powder and I sort of swirl it rather then shaking ? Tia guys
 
I know Pyrex would be the best. I use 12oz mason jars for my basic soup, and 4oz jars for my crystallization. I’ve heard that mason jars can etch and eventually crack from the lye reaction, which is why pyrex would be best. I’ve only had 1 jar break, but that Was from letting my warm water bath get to hot on stove and vibration against the pot from bubbles. Also, I do a/b extractions, so I can’t speak with confidence on the rest as it sounds as though you’re doing a stb. But any kind of tempered jam jar should work.
