First time doing Mescaline. Any advice?

So I got a gram of synthetized Mescaline HCL and need some advice.

I got all 3 reagent tests needed to test it and make sure it is mescaline HCL. I know each form of Mescaline depending on the acid used has a different dosage. I know the dosage for sulfate but has anyone had experience with the HCL form? It was not extracted, it was synthized so theoretically should be more pure than an extract right? (I only have experience extracting DMT so I didn't wanna mess up my first time making it and be disappointed, that's why I got a synthized for my first time.)

Looking for any advice dosage wise for HCL and also music suggestions or playlists that would be good for a Mescaline experience, I know that music can play a big part in the mescaline experience.

I plan on going for a sub breakthrough dosage, I know sulfate and HCL are close in dosage but not sure exactly how much I should take and hard to find info on HCL dosage.

Anyone here have experience with Mescaline HCL? How much should I take for a sub breakthrough dose? Was thinking about 300mg but not sure. Also definitely need music recommendations so any suggestions or info would be appreciated.

I was also thinking about doing some DMT after the peak, maybe like 15mg nothing crazy but haven't found any trip reports on mixing the two so if anyone has experience with that combo I'd love to hear about it.

You are talking about a very small difference here, on the order of a couple of percent between the HCl and sulfate forms. With mescaline, the dose–response curve is quite relaxed, so there is no real need to worry about a few milligrams more or less, as it does not change the experience.

Looking at dosage, anything below 400 is manageable. Only beyond that do you slowly move into territory where the experience becomes more intense and very complex. While I have not personally taken a full gram, some people have, and although it leads to a very intense experience, it is still considered doable. At 300 milligrams, you are nowhere near a breakthrough-type experience. That range sits on the low-to-medium side: around 100-200 milligrams would be a low dose, 300 milligrams slightly higher, it is a very nice dose.

Pro tip, have some ginger on hand to help with nausea, it won’t be extreme at 300 mg but there will usually be some. Another option is using capsules that resist dissolving in the stomach and instead dissolve further along in the digestive tract.

Mescaline is one of the most beautiful psychedelics there is. It is gentle, and it tends to produce a very pleasant experience. It is one of my favorites, and if I had a full day to spare, it would be high on my list. Anyway, good luck, and enjoy your gram of mescaline, it really is something.

You're making me consider going up to the 400mg range just to make sure I get a good first experience out of it. Thank you for that info! I was mainly going off shulgin's entry in Phikal but he only does sulfate in that entry. 400mg seemed like it was intense for him and the stuff I got seems really pure after doing some testing on it. Think I'll probably start at 400mg and maybe try a 600mg trip sometime down the road. Thank you 🙏

Would you by chance have any music recommendations? Need a good psychedelic type of playlist. I was definitely thinking some shpongle for sure but don't have a full playlist made yet.

Yes 400 mg can quite intense indeed, but you were asking about a breakthrough dose 😉 It’s more in the medium range, though it can still be a very strong experience. With mescaline, it’s not only about intensity but also duration, it can last a very long time.

One possible approach is to start with the 300 milligrams and prepare an additional 100-milligram capsule. Or go 200 and then have two 100mg capsules to get where you want to be. There’s no need to take everything at once; you can spread it out over the first two hours. What I personally like to do is take an initial amount and then, perhaps an hour later (when you can clearly feel it), reassess and decide whether to take more based on how the effects are developing. Plus if you have to purge ( could happen but necessary) you can take more after that.

Since you have a gram available, there’s no pressure to go all in immediately you may find that 300 milligrams is already exactly where you want to be. In my experience, mescaline is interesting at many different dose levels. The strongest dose I have done 600 milligrams, so I’m not too experienced, and that was a very strong experience not just because of the intensity, but because it lasted for such a long time.

Without trying to influence your experience too much, I’ll add that mescaline tends to have very distinct phases for me, which is something you might notice as well. I’d interested to hear afterward whether you experience it in a similar way, and I hope you’ll report back.
