Ok here's the tek:
Acquired two K valle Bridgesii about 12 inches in length and cut into stars. Dehydrated the stars for 20 hours at 160 in a standard dehydrator from Walmart, about $50.
Once dried, i snapped the edges off leaving the white cores separated from dried green plant matter (including skin). I discarded the cores. This all seemed easier than slicing all the green stuff while wet, but in reality after doing that, i doubt it

. But it did yield one advantage: no possible loss of alkaloids.
I then took the dried green stuff and powderized. The powder yield was then put into a massive pot filled nearly to the top and boiled. From here I simply copied the popular san pedro powder tea guide on YouTube made by TheQuietDreamer, except I added a shit load of lime juice because I didn't see any disadvantage to making the mescaline more water soluable.
For those who don't want to look on YouTube, you basically just boil the powder until the snot mixture reduces to about 1/7th of your pot. From there you refill the pot back to full and reduce it to 1/7th volume again.
After that you do 3 re washes, filtering the tea from the sludge each time. I used a French press to squeeze the brown tea from the sludge, collected the tea and then reboiled the sludge. This had some advantages in the beginning because i was able to lose less alkaloid rich water in the fibers of a t-shirt, but it was tedious as hell to be honest. Its really hard to stop particulates from slipping past the mesh in the french press when you apply too much pressure, so you gotta push it down really slowly, wait, then push some more. Doubt ill do this again. I saw someone on here used a metal mesh set up to squeeze the sludge without losing yield to cloth; i plan to copy that next time.
So basically that part is just pulling as much alkaloids from the sludge (powder) as you can before discarding. The final pull is when I busted out a T-shirt for straining because I figured the water wasn't as alkaloid rich anymore and I could afford to lose some milligrams for convenience.
In the end I had 3 full mason jars of dark brown tea with little to no particulates. This is where it got a little sloppy . I reduced the tea in a big pot until it was noticeably thicker (even at that hot temp). Once there, i started to get paranoid about accidentally burning it, so I decided to try an improvised double boil. Pic below.
This really slowed the reduction down, and I lost patience once the reduction kind of stalled out at a maple syrup consistency. I also started wondering just how many alkaloids were trapped in the resin clinging to the edges on the side of the bowl. I couldnt help but think I need every bit of that stuff, so I froze it overnight hoping itd be easy to scrape in the morning.
To my surprise, it really was. This stuff when frozen had the consistency of ice cream. Super easy to ball up into one frozen conglomerate. I experimented with just making resin balls out of that, thinking they'd freeze in shape and i could pop them before they started to thaw - didnt work. Melts way too fast and its way too sticky.
Instead I flattened it onto some parchment paper supported by tin foil and dehydrated it in the same dehydrator for 7 hours. The end! Rolled all that resin into little balls and they shall be consumed as one dose, spread apart in the very near future. Will definitely be doing a detailed trip report to follow this.
