five days into freebasing and not one single crystal

This is what I used: Fumarates to Freebase Conversion TEK - DMT-Nexus Wiki .
It seems that nothing will change anytime soon, and that's not good. Now I read somewhere that you could separate the freebase with naphtha, but I don't have any. In the jar there was a thick layer of sediment at the bottom, and a brown, cloudy but homogeneous solution above it.

Hoping that excess everything has dropped to the bottom, I poured the solution in an evaporation dish. Is that a good idea? And how likely is it that there's something else in there besides freebase and sodium carbonate (which I could easily remove)?

Thanks everyone.

Can you post some more details so that people can potentially help.

I'm assuming you used conversion tech number one. So we must assume that you had some DMT fumarate dissolved in some water and then added a saturated solution of Sodium Carbonate to this? If so when you did this did you notice that the fumarate water had a big white cloudy reaction? If so that should indicate that stuff was freebasing. If not something went wrong somewhere along the line.

Exactly; I whined a bit more in this thread :d
Now I just revisited the sediment which was basically a compact mass of tiny granules at the bottom of the jar and, after adding more water (to replace the solution I'm evaporating) and shaking vigorously, it eventually occurred to me that the sediment might be the spice. It sure smells like it and it kind of looks like it too, while the brownish solution I'm evaporating has no smell. I wish I had skipped on the shaking - I guess I was hoping to release some spice trapped in the sediment..

What do you guys think?

Could be spice. On SWIMS first Freebase conversion he did not end up with a white spice from that conversion tech. It was a more flaky (but still crystally and shiny) and light orange/yellow color. It was active vaporized. Hard to tell from that pic, but you can certainly filter out whatever solid is (if that is not what that picture already is).
