Foaming of sodium hydroxide solution

Rising Star
We are producing dmt using the STB method. This time, we saw more bubbles than usual during the process of mixing distilled water, sodium hydroxide and Acacia confusa. Does anyone know what the cause is?

While my first thought is that it's just dissolved air coming out of solution due to the heat from dissolving the NaOH, another possibility is that the ACRB may be more acidic than usual, if your NaOH is maybe old and contains sodium carbonate at a higher level than freshly manufactured material.

Ideally, you could conclude a little more information about the providence of your materials and what else you may have done in the extraction process (such as acidification) prior to this point. This would help to eliminate some guesswork.

A few bubbles shouldn't be a problem anyhow, although it's a bit weird if you're getting soda-like effervescence with just bark, water and lye. Or did you observe the bubbles just from adding lye to water?

I added sodium hydroxide to the distilled water. After that, I added acacia confusa and mixed it, and then I saw bubbles. At this time, I observed bubbles for the first time.
There are two possible causes that I can think of.
One is that there was some hexane on the container I was using to mix it.
The second is that I didn't seal the container when I was storing the sodium hydroxide.
After mixing it, there are a lot of bubbles. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to solve this problem.
