Freeze-precip carrying contaminants from solvent

Migrated topic.

Hey there everyone

One would wonder if possible contaminants in a solvent will be transferred to the product in very small amounts of solvent left in the crystal matrix after pouring off?

Or does freeze-precipping and pouring off successfully remove all worry-worthy contaminants?

A thorough read of §10 of the health and safety (see the link below the banner at the top of the page?) would be good for you.

Thanks!

I've read it thoroughly, multiple times.

Even though a solvent evaps clean and is as pure as one can guarantee, there is always the possibility of trace contamination and thus the possibility of anxiety thereof. I am wondering if freeze-precipitation is more likely to protect me from possible contamination then evaporation.

Any constructive replies?
