Freeze precipitating isn't working

I followed this tek.
I didn't have any lye. So I used sodium carbonate. I let it stay in the base for around 5 days swirling it around a few times a day.

When I freeze precipitate, I don't get any crystals. I'm going to try to evap what naphtha I have left over. To find out if I'm precipitating it wrong, or if it's a problem with the content in the naphtha.

Any information regarding what is happening would be appreciated .

You didnt post a link to the tek.

Sodium carb should be basic enough... It's what I use (but I use sunflower oil and retrieve the spice through back salting with vinegar.

I got the lye I have from a hardware store, it shouldn't be hard to find

How much na2co3 did you use? Did you check the pH? You should use 5 or 6 times as much sodium carbonate (by weight) as you would lye to achieve a pH sufficient to form freebase DMT.
