Fumarate done, Freebase Next...

Hello everyone! I've been doing a BLAB extraction on a pound of Mimosa Hostilis over the last few weeks and have ended up with some wonderful looking DMT Fumarate. I have attached a few photos of it precipitating in the FASI / D-Limonene jar and the collected Fumarate (7.655g dried after cold IPA 99% wash).

I am looking forward to using this in a Volcano. So, the next step is to convert to freebase. I am probably going to follow the last step of the BLAB to do the conversion… However, I have been reading around the Nexus and it seems like there could be other ways to do this that may be better. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the best freebase conversion method is? I am going for purity so time is not the biggest factor.

I like the conversion/crystallization that says on the BLAB, it yields nice crystals.. But you can also check these other conversions

I never tried the 10 minutes one, some people had problems with that and for others it worked. The last conversion does work but result isnt as pure as water crystallization ime

Hey endlessness, thanks for your input. It is quite mesmerizing to slowly watch the DMT Fumarate precipitate in the D-Limonene over 3 days. The whole procedure has been pretty fun actually. :d

I'm going to use the conversion method mentioned in the BLAB extraction TEK (Type 1 on that Freebase Conversion TEK page). It does seem to yield the best crystals based on what I can tell from browsing around the Nexus and your advice, even if it takes a few days.

dont throw anything away if it doesnt work as expected.

After you retrieve crystals from water precipitation, freeze and thaw the water to possibly retrieve a few mgs more (and maybe some sodium carb contamination, which can later be cleaned with water wash)

I'll be sure to post photos of the final freebase conversion, along with yield, etc. I would have not been able to do this (easily) without all the wonderful information here on the Nexus - I'd love to give at least something back.

Can you tell me what the difference is between calcium carbonate and sodium carbonate for the final freebase conversion? I don't have calcium carbonate readily available currently, but I am curious as to what the practical differences are.
