Growing crystals slowly

So I know when recrystalizing you cool the solvent as slow as possible going from room temp to the fridge and then finally to the freezer. My question was if there would be any benefit in utilizing this process during the initial extraction instead of the traditional freeze precipitation? I already evaporate half of the naptha before freezing anyways and I normally notice crystals beginning to form so I figure it couldn't hurt.
