Exp. Report Haphazard Oral Administration Thread

Experience report
Attached a chart of all my haphazard tests (first time doing this and open to criticism).

I started roughly a year ago with taking CES1 inhibitors / lecithin individually ~30 minutes before blending random quantities of fresh leaves and chugging the slurry.
Looking back, it is likely that my first lecithin test didn't work because I had blended too few leaves—as previously mentioned, 4g of dried Salvia divinorum leaf powder (what seems to be a functional low dose for me with the current tek) is ~40 leaves. I doubt I was blending more than ~10 fresh leaves at a time (my functional low dose for a quid).

Still need to test lecithin w/o CaCO3, but I did start the process of extracting some pure salvinorin A for "pharma" Vertigo Tek (one or two part capsule system).
I will need to deposit the purified terpenoid on either lecithin granules or an inert powder for ease of measuring (oral dose is likely in the 4-12mg range).

Additional notes:

- This last test was much stronger, and I had used ~50% leaves from a fresher harvest (collected ~3 months ago as opposed to ~6 months ago)
- I'm 230lbs—might need to eventually work out dosage for different body weights
- A few others reported no similar negative effects (headaches, fatigue, similarities to sleep-aids / hypnotics) with 60+ minutes of regular salvia smoking
- Due to ingested salvinorin A having a duration and intensity similar to classic psychedelics, I may start supplementing with magnesium to combat mental fatigue
- If mental fatigue happens again, then I will need to resume testing with pure salvinorin A (I might be hyper-dosing an undesirable compound in the leaves)
- Probably worth it to study KOR agonism more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Will be back in roughly a week with the first set of "crude" Vertigo Tek v1 instructions for those who dare to join me in early experimentation.

What kinda of solvent are you using? Never seen that absinthe looking color b4 lol? Curious now! And this is an edible extract or liquid what kind of maki is used?
This is actually a great question! I'm using pieces of this erowid tek (a classic), this YouTube tek, and a few methods that seem to be analogously gaining traction within the salvia community. Someone recently mentioned going to a conference and hearing Thomas Munro discuss "dipping leaves in acetone" since salvinorin A is mostly inside trichomes on the leaf surface (like THC trichomes on female cannabis flowers). I've actually been stealing methodology from cannabinoid live resin extraction over the past year and applying those techniques with decent results. The yield might be lower, but it's definitely fast.

Essentially, I chill both whole dried leaves and solvent (95%+ ethanol or acetone) in separate jars. Once they are ice cold, I put on gloves, pour ~200ml of the chilled solvent into the salvia jar, and then vigorously shake this for one minute (careful not to let the icy vessel slip). This is decanted into a glass measuring cup, another ~100-200ml can be poured into the salvia jar, it is shaken again for one minute, and decanted. This is repeated one to three more times—the leaves shatter more with each wash. The idea is to mechanically smash the trichomes as much as possible because salvinorin A is contained inside of them, though some may fall off the leaves and end up flowing into the measuring cup (frozen solvent also collects less contaminants). Then, this liquid is run through a double coffee filter to catch tannins, leaf particles, some waxes, fats, &c. The solvent will warm up as it is run through the filter, so inevitably there will still be congealed wax and chlorophyl once it evaporates. Therefore, I still defat with 3-5 naptha washes (also removes some chlorophyl) and then evaporate with a fan. More steps from the previously mentioned teks can be followed if a purer product is desired.

Apologies, I should have mentioned that salvinorin A extract will look like this if no alcohol washes are done (first attached image).
Still has waxes in there—might work for Vertigo.

With recrystallization, it looks like this (second attached image).
This is where I've chosen to stop because it has to be pure enough to get a fairly accurate dosage when testing the pharma version (orally active in the milligram range).
Haven't weighed my yield yet, but may need to deposit it on microcrystalline cellulose, calcium carbonate, or lecithin powder for more accurate dosing.

Would love to know more about this. Indoors vs. outdoors, watering schedule, amount of light exposure, propagation, etc.
I grow Salvia divinorum in zone 6b / 7a. Mother plant (first attached image) comes indoors (grow tent) during the winter along with my chacruna, cacti, kratom, ephedra, and caffeinated hollies (Illex spp). Heat comes from grow lights; humidity is naturally high due to the large number of plants with moist "living" soil. A fan is necessarily run twice a day to keep mold growth down. Cuttings from the mother are rooted in water during April (I use a separate grow chamber). Once roots are one inch long, I plant cuttings in garden soil. I transplant them in a shady spot in my garden as it gets warm enough. Typically, I'll grow ~12 topped plants which can result in 24-36 individual stalks that grow ~4 feet each (second attached image / third attached image). I water with compost tea every two weeks, provide Masterblend fertilizer every two weeks, and spray with tobacco tea (insecticide) every two weeks. I will stop spraying with tobacco water in August / September so that rain will wash it off before harvest (less pests during these months). I will dry all of the leaves on my guest bed (fourth attached image).

Vertigo update:

Still writing the crude administration tek, though I'm hoping to get substantial feedback from friends this week—it's a draft and I'm not the most entertaining writer :)

Successfully extracted 100mg of salvinorin A from ~57g of Salvia divinorum leaf (~3 months old) and deposited it on 500mg of cornstarch. I will freeze this to preserve potency. Planning on buying lecithin grains tomorrow so that I can see if everything fits in a single capsule for the pharma tests.
