All I can seem to find on this subject is this thread and want to ask a few questions to clear up some things that are missing in it.
1. Vaporization What temp do normal vapes operate at? (what temp is the coil at?) Some people are suggesting anywhere from 40-400c. The temps needed for Harmala to vaporize are a bit of a grey area[1][2] as officially it requires well over 300c to vaporize but people are posting reports of feeling it vaporizing it in a vapor genie.
If this is true then vaporizing harmalas via e-cig might be entirely possible at 200c?
2. Solubility If harmala didn't dissolve completely but was just suspended in solution, would it still vaporize or would it get stuck the cotton?
3. Dosage What is the minimum harmala do you need per vape hit to activate monamine oxidase inhibition?
I remember reading on here that its about 3mg of harmala per hit in the vapor genie.
I also remember however a 4ml tank can roughly provide around 100-200 long deep hits of anything.
*so 4ml/200hits= 0.02ml of solution vaped per hit
*if you put 40mg of harmala in 4ml you would get 0.2mg of harmala vaped per hit, but you need 3mg per hit. Therefor you would need to times that by 15 to get 3mg per hit
*40mg harmala x 15=600mg harmala per 4ml of pg/vg liquid. However this is an issue because of the solubility issues mentioned in the thread linked.
I have just done my own testing on 4ml of straight PG. 100mg of fb harmala does seem to dissolve upon microwaving it for a few seconds by the change of color, but i think what is rather the case is just a dispersion of still intact particulate harmala crystals because i can still see a lot of very tiny bits floating around (sparkly liquid). I assume these might be able to seep through the cotton to land on the coils and be partially vaped at 200c
