Has my MHRB gone bad?

Hey guys, I did an extraction on some MHRB that would have to be 2-3 years old now. It's been kept in 2 plastic bags inside each other in a dark place. Prob not air tight.

I used Cyb's salt tek which I have in the past and it normally yields 2% impure and around 1% after re x'ing.

This time around I got 1.67% impure which I thought was fine but upon re Xing I'm left with 0.67% of still impure that I'll need to re X again again. I'm sure it will be less than 0.33% by the time I'm done.

I followed the tek to the letter and as I said I've done so before with great results.

Could my MHRB have lost potency over time or have I just missed something somewhere? I read some other post about DMT converting to DMT oxide over time. I have another bag as well so for the next extraction I'll try that, maybe it was just that particular bag that was bad.

A friend had some that was around 8 years old. Similar thing happened to him but I think he still managed to get about 1% of nice white spice out.

Also, if it was in a separate bag, could it be that it is not the exact same batch?

Is it powdered?

Interesting point Synkromystic. It was the first time I had taken from this bag so yes it could have been a different batch. I ordered it all at the same time but you never know exactly what you are getting, maybe 1 or more of the bags was from a different batch. It's not powdered.

I will do another extraction from another bag.

Also I evap'd my solvent under a fan. This normally isn't a problem but from reading the other posts I can see this just creates more oxidisation. I'll slow evap next time.
