Have anyone tried Dimethyl-Ether as a solvent for DMT?

Hey guys!

Im wondering if swim could extract some DMT with his BHO extractor and a bottle of Dimethyl-Ether? Since the name of the solvent is very similar to our Dimitriś name swim think they could like each other

Unfortunately swim does not have any MHRB here.... need to order new bark first.
But if swim would give it a try the tek will look like this:

1. 100g MHRB into a stainless steel container
2. + 100ml near boiling water + 100ml vinegar
3. let it sit for more than 1 hour
4. + 80g lime (calcium hydroxide, more won´t be bad)
5. let it sit for 3 days (maybe longer, or dry it in the oven. It need to be dry)
6. break the crumbles and fill the powder into a glas or stainless steel BHO-extractor
7. use a half bottle of DME gas
8. wait until the gas has been evaporated / let the bark powder dry
9. do another DME pull after 2 days

So you guys see its a normal BHO extraction just using DME (because its more food safe). And we use lime to make the DMT dry+powdered and solutable in non polar solvent

Wouldn't you need to do this under vaccuum?
Like the closed loop CO2 extractors for cannabis.

Relevant information for those considering working with this solvent:

Recommended Materials: Stainless steel. Mild steel.
Unsuitable Materials: Some forms of cast iron. Examples of materials to avoid are: ABS, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polyethylene (PE / HDPE), polypropylene (PP), PVC, natural rubber (NR), Nitrile (NBR) ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM), Butyl (IIR), Hypalon (CSM), polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyisobutylene. For containers and container linings, aluminium should not be used if there is a risk of caustic contamination of the product.

Well, it would be a pressurised apparatus but it would be sealed which is what it appears you were getting at. A closed loop system would be eminently sensible as food grade DME presumably isn't all that cheap.

This would entail a fair level of competence in pressurised systems engineering.

What's important is how soluble DMT is in the solvent under the extraction conditions. It seems likely that DME would be a better solvent than butane due to its higher polarity - and the above mentioned incompatible plastics. Which, incidentally, is something you need to check most carefully before connecting a DME cylinder to your BHO rig. There's no point trying to use a food safe solvent if it then dissolves any sealing rings and contaminates your product.

Also you need to be sure your rig is capable of handling the higher pressures that DME, with its significantly lower boiling point, would develop.

At this point as well it makes me wonder what other compounds might be pulled out of the source material, 'cos you probably ain't gonna end up with gleaming white crystals using this method. And how will you ensure that the lime doesn't get blown through the apparatus? Presumably there's some kind of filter material involved.
