Have done stb with hephtan, how to pull more with DCM

I have pulled 3 times stb with hepthan. But i want the jungle dmt too
How am i suppost to do that? what i mean is what ph am i suppost to have when using dcm?
Can i just throw the dcm inn my mix with lye/mimosa/ and a little bitt of hepthan thats left inn the flask.
i know that dcm will sink to the buttom, but wil the ph of 13+ ruin the dcm. do i need to do somthing first?
Hope you guys understand what i mean. I dont wana trhow away precuis jungle dmt.
I can`t get a hold of toulene or xelene. its illigal in my country
so all i can try is with dcm

Hi,

All you have to do is start pulling with DCM.
If the layers don't separate, add more base. Sometimes pH goes down after you do pulls. The pH needed is the same as with heptane.

so i can just take the DCM in the same container 5L hdpe2 and shake it for a while, and lett it sitt over night,
and then cutt a hole in the bottom off the container and the i get the DCM, and then lett it air dry in a pyrex dish for as long as it needs?

And how mutch do i need of DCM same as with hepthan?
i mean i use 1:1 mimosa/hepthan so i use samme with DCM
450g mimosa and 450ml DCM does it sound right? or is it another ratio?

Yeah you could do 1 big pull. This would eliminate the potential disaster of having to do multiple pulls on an open holed jug.
Heat the jug up in the tub and get it warm while you shake the dcm around for maximum spice absorption.
Make sure you do not let any base/bark mixture escape into your pyrex dish.
It may be wise to drain the vessel into a glass measuring cup or something, and then pour this into the dish, just in case anything other than solvent escapes during the draining phase.

I wouldnt recommend using DCM, since halogenated solvents like DCM react with DMT to form the quaternary ammonium salt, N-chloromethyl-DMT chloride. God knows about the activity and toxicity of this substance. Here are two scientific papers describing it (post 55)

In the experiment, they left the DMT in DCM for 4 days. It might be that just pulling and evaping/salting will not be fast enough for reaction to occur, but Im not sure. If you do it, try to be as quick as possible.

Also notice DCM is quite toxic, may even be carcinogenic, so please work with good ventilation/flow hood if you do.

Im neither very confident with DCM and HDPE.. Looking at "chemical compatibility" in google, there are some conflicting reports, some places say its ok, others say not ok.. I would avoid it just to be sure. Better work with glass.

Yikes I just ordered some DCM lol. I took a look at the studies and feel I'm save if I don't let the DMT sit in the DCM for a long time. So I hope it freeze precipitates fast enough :O.

It also seems the equilibrium of the reaction isnt very high so it hardly formes at all and it goes fairly slow. Also the bioavailability of the chloro dmt is relatively non existant.

I wouldn't heat DCM as it's boiling point is lower than hot tap water. Around 40C or 100f if memory serves.. I also don't think it's at all necassary, as DMT is already extremely soluble in DCM, so unless you live outside in the upper northern hemisphere, I can't see room temp DCM being at all insufficient.

..an extract which endlessness by GCMS found was almost pure DMT (with no chlorinated artifacts) was left to slowly evaporate/crystalize in DCM over a period of 3-5 days at room temperature..
..i suspect it is either heat, sunlight or excessively basic pH which could cause reactions with halogenated solvents..they are, as benzyme points out, a scientific standard for many such proceedures..the carcinogenic aspects are with repeated/prolonged/chronic exposure..

certainly d-limonine is probably less toxic if one is regularly exposed..

You can't freeze precipitate DMT out of DCM, you have to evaporate the DCM (which can be done in less than an hour with a fan).
