Hello, and quick question

Migrated topic.

Psychless

Rising Star
Hello. I am psychless. I have limited experience with psychedelics. I've done lsd twice, and mushrooms 3 or 4 times. mushrooms by far was the most beautiful drug experience I've had. It included small cities along the side of the road riding in a car, Indian spirits around a camp fire, and space expansion with reptilian hallucinations. I have done a lot of other kinds of drugs though, but I'm leaving that behind me :d .

I will be posting more after my next experience... but I have a quick question. I could either have access to a large amount of pschotria virdis soon, or I can go through some effort and wait about a month or 4 weeks to have access to mimosa hostilis, for an ayahauasca experience. Is psychotria viridis a good candidate for a complete ayahuasca experience? Should I go through effort and time for an equal amount of mimosa hostilis? I first decided psychotria viridis would be a better candidate for it doesnt' have all the dye and tannin of mimosa hostilis. I would like to keep the brew down long enough for a full ayahuasca experience. I'm worried though because psychotria viridis dmt content can be 0%, up to .3%, with mimosa hostilis root bar being double to around 1%.;)

I would hate if the psychotria viridis had 0% of dmt.. I would be shit out of luck and not able to have access to mimosa hostilis after trying it. I've tried to make ayahuasca years and years ago, using Syrian rue and mimosa hostilis. We put a lot of effort into making it, boiling it down to like 10 oz. of drink per each of us. It wasn't boiled down enough, not potent enough, and we puked it up right away.

The boiled mimosa hostilis mixture we strained through a white t shirt dyed the T shirt a deep red color, and I don't think dyes are tolerated by the stomach very well...

Is psychotria a legitimate candidate for my ayahuasca brew? Again, really concerned if it ends up having 0% dmt

edit: I think I posted this in the wrong area. Should I delete and repost or can you move it?

I think it's better if one has smoked DMT prior to exploring ayahuasca, though this is just my opinion.

Psychotoria viridis is the original banisteriopsis caapi admixture, either that or Diplopterys cabrerana, these are the two admixture plants that form the original south American ayahuasca. (Tetrapteris methistica and other admixture plants could also be found in Amazonian ayahuasca. It's a plant that I hold in very high regard, and have a good deal of respect for.

It takes between 30-70g psychotoria viridis per person in a brew...This is with 50g or more banisteriopsis caapi, or 3g peganum harmala per person.

I think MHRB brews are horrible tasting, but they can very effective when brewed properly...

Acacia confusa root bark makes better ayahuasca analogues than MHRB, in my mind, the ACRB has a more "indole" taste and smell to it, it's still disgusting, but it's easier for me to drink than MHRB...

I think ayahuasca is something you must build a relationship with, and that most who just want a quick and easy "trip" are destined to fail with the decoction.

Education is more important than anything, research these plants, learn their history, learn of the people's who use them, learn of how these people use them, learn the lore surrounding these plants, learn the botanical and chemical details of these plants, you must really form a relationship with the ayahuasca.

testimony is that magic is alive in hyperspace. It is not necessary to believe me, only to form a relationship with these hallucinogenic plants.

I will add a cautionary note. I always feel odd telling people to verify my observations since the sine qua non is the hallucinogenic plant. Experimenters should be very careful. One must build up to the experience. These are bizarre dimensions of extraordinary power and beauty. There is no set rule to avoid being overwhelmed, but move carefully, reflect a great deal, and always try to map experiences back onto the history of the race and the philosophical and religious accomplishments of the species. All the compounds are potentially dangerous, and all compounds, at sufficient doses or repeated over time, involve risks. The library is the first place to go when looking into taking a new compound. -terence mckenna

Welcome to the forum!

I agree entirely with the previous post. You must develop a relationship with the "ayahuasca". Approach it as if it was someone you were interested in starting a serious relationship with: take it slow, be slightly cautious and very respectful etc.

I don't know much about MHRB brews, I've never used them.

ACRB works very well though. Use between 10-25g (10g being very roughly as intense as perhaps 3g of shrooms, 25g being closer to 7 or 8g of shrooms).

Whatever you use (I would recommend ACRB over Psychotria any day), dose the DMT-containing brew and the Syrian Rue/Caapi (MAOI) brew TOGETHER. Many sources will give you the impression that leaving an hour between the MAOI and the DMT is best, and perhaps this is true for some people. But the natives dose together, I dose together (after trying various time delays), and just generally see more logic in dosing together.

One last thing. If ever you get to a point where you just can't handle the taste of the brew anymore, where the mear idea of it makes you want to vomit, there is a solution. You can try SLOWLY simmering down the brew until you're left with nothing but a thick goo or redish brown powder. If you mix this with any kind of oily food (peanut butter), there is NO TASTE.

Safe travels to you! And apologies if I've included a bunch of info that you've already come across.
