Hello everyone, I'm, knarkkorven.

First of all, excuse my spelling/poor grammar, my native language is Swedish. 😉

I have researched and experienced the psychedelic realms for about 15 years now.
Nowadays its mostly weed and psilocybin mushrooms a few times every year, but I have experiences of LSD, LSA, mescaline, DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, 5-HO-DMT, and some other tryptamines, phenethylamines, plants and mushrooms. I have a strong interest in researching new/unknown substances from plant origins. I don't care much about the synthetic research chemical market.

I like to pick and identify mushrooms. Not only the psychedelic but also edibles and other species...

I have lurked around here for a few years without registering a member. But now, I feel I needed an account, because I want to share some information about my experiences with a psychoactive mushroom I don´t think anyone else on earth has experienced before, so please give me the credentials to start new threads in the forums soon! What else can I tell you.. hmmm...

Plants/mushrooms I have grown:
Cannabis, Salvia divinorum, Datura stramonium, Ipomoea, Brugmansia, Atropa belladonna, Claviceps purpurea, Psilocybe cubensis, Paneolus cinctulus... probably a few more.

I have a big interest in Claviceps purpurea and the Elusian mysteries and have researched the subject since 2006. I recently found out about a method to grow this species on wheat which make the alkaloid profile very interesting. 93% ergonovine and almost no ergotamine!! I also would like to share this with you later...

That's interesting and timely to me, your mention of claviceps cultivation. I'm planning a hypothetical entheogenic ( or as I like to refer to it, a 'wizard's' ) garden and am curious about ergot, will it contaminate other plants? Can it be 'induced', or whatever you would call it outdoor, and how much area would have to be dedicated to the host plant?

How do you perform the alkaloid profile analysis?

Anyway, I'm sure your knowledge will be a good addition to the anecdotal research library we have here. 😉
 
Claviceps purpurea contaminates a lot of different genera in the family Poaceae. It can spread from one species to another.

Ergot can be found among whole rye brought, more prominent in rye for animals due to higher max limits of number of sclerotia per kilo/pound of grain. However, I think you can find some in the wild if you are really dedicated. Look on the grass along dirt roads, paths in forests etc. It's very common, at least here in Europe.
Ergot sclerotia can be used to start a mycelium culture on petri dishes, or grow stroma (small "mushrooms"). Ergot is also spread by flies sucking the sweet syrupy dew the ergot create on it's host plant. A nice way to spread mycelium to other grass flowers.

Commercial production usually use a liquid culture started from spores from the stroma grown from ergot sclerotia, which is inoculated out on rye ears in big rye fields by draging sponges dipped in LC over the rye, or clapping rye ears between pads with sponges and needles to pucture rye flowers and get higher inoculation yield. For a simple home cultivation, one can inoculate individual ears during the flowering with a simple painting brush or sprayer.

Usually, ergot is thought only to produce ergotoxins, mostly ergotamine. That is true for booth liquid cultures and sclerotia. But I found a reference to an old and over looked scientific paper which describes that a simple change in growing technique which involves solid substrate instead of liquid, which leads to this remarkable change of alkaloid profile.

I'm going to write a post about how I successfully extracted and vaporized bufotenine (or 5-MeO-DMT) from Amanita citrina (Amanita bulbosa var. citrina).

Of course, I could post this in one of the new member-forums, but I want to post it in the Bufotenine and 5-MeO-DMT forum, which I find is more correct and where the information will be easier to find in the future.

It seems like the admins/moderators aren't very active in promoting new members right now, and I don't feel like posting 50-100 posts to prove that I'm serious and will behave nicely. A simple Google search for knarkkorven could prove that...
