Hi y’all, I’m Alpine. This is the first forum I’ve ever joined. Ever. Well, maybe I have a Reddit account I’ve never used, but seriously, joining this forum feels like a big deal to me.
But then, that’s what DMT is to me. The biggest deal ever.
I’ve seen combat, and DMT still showed me something I wasn’t prepared for. I think I went into it expecting something like mushrooms or acid, only more intense. Like I was just going to get more fucked up.
I don’t even like saying that because I’m 3½ years sober from a crippling ten-year methamphetamine addiction, and getting fucked up is the last thing I need to be doing. But if I’m honest, I think that’s roughly what I expected.
AND IT WASN’T THAT AT ALL.
It was like having the veil removed. It was heartbreaking, overwhelming, and beautiful. The first time I did it, the only thing I could say was “OH MY GOD” over and over and over.
I’ve now done DMT seven or eight times, and I’ve written about or recorded several of those experiences. I’m here to share some of them, but I’m also here to read what all of you have to say.
I’ve already read a lot here, and it feels like every experience report is a dart thrown at the same board. Our words land somewhere around the outer ring, each from a different angle, while what DMT actually shows us is the bull’s-eye. There seems to be some limitation in human language that keeps us from speaking directly about the center. We can see it, but when we come back and try to explain it, we can only point toward it from the edges.
Maybe DMT shows each of us a different part of that center, shaped by what we need. I think it may be the most beautiful thing I have ever encountered.
The message it has given me is LOVE. Love myself. Love.
Lastly, I am going here to connect with other people who KNOW.
