After 40 years of tobacco smoking, I am now tobacco free for 2 years, due to the use of vaping. I have many medical issues, so I also smoked medical marijuana, mainly concentrates though. I finally procured a desktop vaporizer, and am now smoke free 100%. In the process, I discovered I could vape passion flower herb. It seems to have a profound effect on my acute anxiety, but just not strong enough, or long lasting enough. I have now also ingested passion flower extract, it is much stronger in effect, but it takes 1-2hrs for full effect, too slow compared to vaporizing. The extract is alcohol based, I can't vape it. I'm wondering what form to get passion flower in, and what is normally available, that is vapable, and will hit me fairly hard. Is there anything else I can add that would enhance the effect of calming? Sorry if I'm rambling, or asked in the wrong place!
 
I don't really have an answer to your question, but curious what form your passion flower is in, and how you find the taste when vaped.

The stuff I get at a local healthfood store in bulk is crushed leaves I believe, and tastes absolutely foul in a vaporizer, in a tea, really in any way I have tried to use it.
 
I've had to use it in a crushed herb form as well. Not the best taste. It's why I'm trying to find a concentrate of it like butter or shatter, which is many times stronger than herb. I'm wondering if it may come in a concentrate paste... I'm in a small town in the middle of nowhere, so it's really hard to find anything here.
 
I doubt the taste will be any better, but have you tried evaporating some of the alcohol based tincture, and scraping up the residue?
 
Yes I did, took hours, and only got a couple hits. Not the way to go. I think I can get a paste, but it's 32 bucks a jar. Might be the only way to go though. The alcohol extract I have is a flower only extract, and hits me pretty hard if I drink enough. But takes like 1/4 of a bottle at 10 bucks apiece arg. All I know is vaporizing extracts like butter ect, I get way more and it lasts far longer than the herb form.
 
:) Hi, does it have to be passionflower?? Even if the harmalas (harmane, harmaline, harmalol, harmine, harmol)in passionflower are similar as the ones in tobacco (Harmane, Harmol..etc) but we doN't know, we think that it is either in a weak concentration in that herb (passifloras) and/or difficult to extract/isolate pure xtals.

If one wants a moar powerful RIMA harmala alkaloids one could try the tao of rue and extract harmala (harmaline/harmine) freebase from rue, which one could then evap on to some random herb of one's choice. That will surely hit hard (tinnitus alert).

One could then, before vaping some harmala leaf, drink a cup of light passiflora incarnata tea to get the (now enhanced) effects of its other substances (alpha-alanine, apigenin, aribine, chrysin, citric acid, coumarin, cyclopassifloic acids A-D, cyclopassiflosides I-VI, diethyl malonate, edulan I, edulan II, flavonoids, glutamine, gynocardin, homoorientin, isoorientin, isoschaftoside, isovitexin, kaempferol, loturine, lucenin-2, lutenin-2, luteolin, n-nonacosane, orientin, passicol, passiflorine, passifloric acid, pectin, phenolic acids, phenylalanine, proline, prunasin, quercetin, raffinose, sambunigrin, saponarin, saponaretin, saponarine, schaftoside, scopoletin, serotonin, sitosterol, and stigmasterol)

Harmine/Harmaline can enhance and empower other herbs such as *ganja...etc

One should remember, that even tho these are RIMAS one should somewhat stick to the MAOI diet for a day before & after.:?:

One can get syrian rue at any Iranian/middle east store - it is called esphand/harmal :d

Also we thought about **5-htp and melatonin (sound sleep) to battle anxieties and panic disorder which we also experience when we accidently strayed into a Firangi or Børg shopping mall (that is what we was trying to avoid) in the meanwhile we use the company of pure birds.....:thumb_up:

BTW, have you heard about Tabex?

* strong cannabis extracts such as shatter or rosin are the prime culprits of panic & anxiety
**(5-htp in combination with harmalas is most probably very very unsafe due to danger of serotonin syndrome so one should decide for either one of the two)
