For whatever reason i cannot figure out how to attach a picture. If someone will explain how to do so then i will post swims ugly ass pie. It keeps saying jpegs aren't allowed yet they are listed as allowed when trying to attach.

Visual Description: Circular pie dish of evaporated Naphtha that is completely covered in Brown/dark orange tiny little crystals almost resembling the way lye looks shape wise. It is not lye though i am certain. Just ugly little dots basically.


Help please. Swim is an experienced psychonaught or psychopath whichever you prefer, but only recently began doing extractions. This is a picture of Swims 4th and he has no idea what happened aside from doing something wrong. Embarrassingly and regretfully he was highly intoxicated when brewing. Also embarrassingly is he can't tell you exact measurements that were used. Obviously he is aware he did everything wrong but is just hoping this pie dish of hopefully salvageable dreams can actually be salvaged.

A semi accurate version of his pie baking process would be....

1kg of mimosa bark that he ground up using food processor.

Added industrial vinegar and water and froze and thawed twice before bringing to a boil on stove.

Strained bark and separated pie filling three times.

reduced pie filling by boiling by approx half till fairly thick red sludge.

added lye. (used 400gs at first) (after initial first troubling night added an additional 600gs)

added naphtha. (956ml)

it took over 12 hours to even detect a different layer but was so dark orange/brown you couldn't see through it.

siphoned off and this is how his pie turned out.

Can this be saved?

A possible issue was maybe Swim added the solvent while pie filling was too hot? It was still basically boiling...

Thank you voidmatrix. Swim is just concerned that entire batch could be ruined or if he could re-x or wash to help salvage his ugly pie.

Due to the nature of this forum, there are a few things that I feel compelled to address first:
1. NEVER attempt to perform an extraction while intoxicated or altered. There are dangerous elements to this process that require your mindfulness. You already addressed how you feel about this, so to reiterate, I had to make a comment.
2. You need to scale this extraction back. There's not really any need to do an extraction with anything more than 100g of starting material. Large scale like this is a recipe for disaster...

Now, as boogerz stated, don't throw anything away. More often than not things can be remedied.

Evaporate, scrape and re-x. Recrystalization is relatively simple.

To Re-x:
In a small vessel (I use a small glass cup usually) place your DMT to be re-x.
Use 20-50ml of solvent and pour into the glass.
Cover the glass.
Moving the glass away from the stove, bring a pot of water to a boil.
TURN OFF THE HEAT once boiling.
Place the glass in the boiling water.
Remove the lid and stir, allowing all of the actual DMT to dissolve in the solvent and leaving behind any adulterants.
Pipette/decant all of the solvent leaving the adulterants in the glass.
Place new vessel with the solvent in freezer and allow for freeze precipitation.
Pull out of freezer, pour off solvent, allow to dry.
Scrape, weigh (if you're so inclined), gush, and enjoy your goodies.

Depending on your yield and how this goes, we'll also be able to tell if there's anything you need to do with the overall extraction (aside from scaling back).

Yes swim is completely aware of the recklessness of his bad decision to not wait until the next morning to start the process. he was just so excited to receive the mexican bark not powdered that he made a bad decision. ok swim will try a re-x which was what he was thinking about doing but had become confused trying to follow along instructions on a different post. thank you for breaking it down to him. He is going to start the process shortly and will let me know if he wants me to type anything else out for him because he cannot read or write. he's a little slow. He sampled some of his pie though and found it to be suprisingly normal, just said had a sort of weird burnt bbq sauce flavor and is def the ugliest spice he'd ever seen, Thanks again.

also i have no idea which yet he used. i believe he said it was a mix of a few and was taught to him by a close friend.

I definitely understand the excitement :D

When you say sampled some of the pie, do you mean what was in the dish? Was this smoaked/vaporized or orally ingested? Did it give effects similar to DMT?

P.S. In simple terms, your method is an acid/base extraction (A/B), but that can be broken down further into more specific teks that are specifically A/B teks.

Yes swim sampled the pie several times now, vaporized each time. He also did a re-x which def cleaned it up quite a bit, but it is still a brown color just more of a tan instead of a dark brown. when performing the re-x the stuff left behind was basically two things. some sludge that looked just like the base, and a transparent blob of what appears to be fats or oils. the stuff that looked like base though concerns him. he was very careful when siphoning so he's thinking maybe it was how he added naphtha. due to ignorance and carelessness he added the solvent while his pie was still extremely hot. not warm. like almost boiling. it was from this point on that all problems arose such as solvent taking forever to seperate then never being transparent but rather a dark cloudy brown color. would a second re-x help turn from tan to yellow or white or did first re-x pretty much clean everything already?

pie tek it is now. if you want brown mud just follow this tek hah. no I've just been referring to it as pie the whole time because I was initially going to post a picture of a pie dish with the shit inside of it. I guess it's a half assed attempt to be clever lol.

With regard to the uploads - or lack thereof: you have to ensure that the file extension is '.jpg; because '.jpeg' will not work! (That's just the way it is...)

Having used hot solvent is one thing that has contributed to the dark color of your extract; evaporation to collect the goods is another factor. Add to that the fact that you've used 1kg of bark for this and it serves once again to emphasize how it's preferable to use a considerably smaller amount of bark per extraction - especially if you're a first timer. Ever heard of putting all your eggs in one basket?

The other thing that you ought to have heard of if you're here is the Attitude Page, in particular this bit

So, having got that over with, I hope you manage to crystallise your product successfully - it's pretty easy really. The main thing to remember is the DMT will crash out on cooling after having been dissolved in a just sufficient quantity of hot solvent. If you can use a freezer for this you'll get better yields.

Looking forward to see some nice crystal pics once you get this sorted.

Swim would never sell any of his products for he makes enough money working 70 hours a week. He has been to prison once and does not plan on going back especially due to unnecessary and reckless drug dealing. The 1 kg extraction was intended to last a few months. His thinking was less mail, less extractions, less risk. He was able to semi salvage his project. After re-x twice as you mentioned his yield diminished significantly. next time will do it in 4 or 5 extractions so he gets more familiar with the process. His first 3 extractions went perfect but he rushed this last one basically just because sometimes he's a moron. Thank you for all the advice and i'll try the jpg thing instead of jpeg.

after re-x his project still has a brown color, just significantly less brown, more light tan. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? even with new solvent added only warm not hot, still coming out brown. will post pic of solvent jar too.

ok read the rules again. wasn't aware of how many i was breaking by talking about swim and his pietek. edited and fixed issues.
