help to recover failed caapi leaf extraction

Hi,
I was making a caapi leaf alcool extraction (10 gr in ethanol) i leave and mix for 20 days, then fultared then try to evaporate in a hot bath, but the jar broke and the alcool mix in water....so i try to follow gibran2 caapi extraction, i add more 20 gr of leaves acidified with winegar and then made 3 boils/filter/add water acid/filter/reduce.....

When i go to basify with 3 gr naoh in 25 ml of distilled water the solution turn dark but i didn't see any precipitate...so what i can do now ? i was thinking to try to pull with naphta or hexane like normal dmt extraction but i don't know if it's good or not, what i can try to do ? apart to trash everything.

The ethanol may be preventing your harmalas from precipitating, although I don't think harmala freebase is particularly soluble in ethanol.

You could try evaporating the whole thing to dryness, dissolve in acidic water, then add base till the ph is around 11 and see if your harmalas precip.

95% ethanol, with a pinch of citric acid, is highly efficient at extracting harmalas from powdered Syrian Rue seeds. I'm just about to finish my first Whiterasta tek...

I also have some caapi leaf, and wonder if the issue is alcohol struggling to penetrate the actual leaf structure, and liberate the harmalas? They're tough as hell, and I guess you haven't gotten close to powdering them?

In which case, a long water boil is probably necessary... I even freeze/thawed mine last time I extracted them, to help loosen them up.

Also, 10g leaf will only yield 1-2%: 100-200mg harmalas, which will be almost invisible in anything other than a very small amount of concentrated solution...

If it was me, I'd probably have started with at least 100g leaf to make it worthwhile.

I trow away my mess, didn't see the replies....ok, better that i try with the 10x water extract, i made another, and another 10gr in alcool, so, i can add some citric or winegar to the ethanol ?

This time i meke sure that don't broke any jar :-/
