[HELP US CLEAN] Cleaning up the threads and posts

Migrated topic.
We need to build up the wiki with as much content that is super easy to navigate for information IMO (from plant information and ID, to growing guide for specific species, to extraction teks from specific samples etc), then it's bound to eliminate the repetitive or uneducated questions that crowd the forums. Especially the posts from new guests that don't read the attitude and FAQ sections from either laziness, or the "I can build it without
reading the instruction manual" mentality, or whatever other reason.

With an aim towards cleaning up the Research Area...

The following threads are simple questions (mostly from new members), not workspaces for compiling information. As such, I request they be moved to "FAQ" in the Welcome Area

Move to "Welcome Discussion"

Move to "Health and Lifestyle"

Move to "Grass Tek Research"

Move to "Harmalas"

Move to "STB"

Move to "Plant Analysis and Substance Testing"

Merge Welcome to the DMT-Nexus into Trichocereus, Lophophora, etc. Mescaline Workspace - Collaborative Research Project - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

ALL DONE

I am so thrilled to see the amount of effort that my peers on this forum are putting into this clean-up. I haven't had much time to pitch in, or even post much recently, as I have been holding down three jobs. But I fully intend to spend some time on clean-up duty this weekend.

I am still a little bit confused as to what constitutes "slang"... Would words like "spice", "hyperspace", and "blast off" be considered slang? By the definition of the term "slang", I would think so. But I would be incredibly surprised if the mods on this forum were intending to expand the Attitude to that extent. Could we get a few examples of the type of slang we are trying to avoid?

Thank you Trav, and the rest of you fine folk who have been putting in the effort to improve this forum. I think it will most definitely pay off in the end, allowing The Nexus to live up to it's full potential as an unparalleled source of information regarding psychedelic/entheogenic plants and alkaloids.

I don't know how the forum is implemented and if it's possible but maybe a report button could be available above the posts with a small comment field when pressed to inform why the report is done. I've seen this on other boards sometimes. It could make the work for mods easier and keep the forum cleaner as long as the button is used with common sense. Maybe implemented in such way that only full or senior member have the ability to use it.

This actually seems like a good idea.

On craigslist you can flag a thread and choose why you flagged it. You could then flag a thread as such, double post language FAQ ect. At this point it might be a good measure to help keep the forum clean for the future as 3rdi has almost single handedly linked all effected posts lol!

I will start helping as soon as I get time.

I second, or third, this idea. A report button with an explanation field would greatly enable us to "clean as we go" instead of having to do what we're doing now.

I am not a programmer or site builder so I don't know how much work it would take to implement this but it seems worth it to me.

I'm thinking these should be merged into the "VG VaporGenie: How to use, where to get, advantages, etc" thread as they are all questions about gvg stuff. Or faq sake? I dunno...

[GVG]

The following should be merged into this thread. New GVG - The Glass Bat VG - Vaping/Smoking - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus
[The Glass Bat]

[For faqs sake]

For FAQ's Sake... - FAQ - All your basic questions and answers - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

I had created a review thread on mg scales almost a year ago HERE

maybe it can get a sticky somewhere and the following threads can be merged into it.

What scale do you use? - FAQ - All your basic questions and answers - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

Merged into into new sticky in FAQ. Most posts were older than the suggested thread and therefore would have made stickying that thread irrelevant, so they were merged into the oldest post found. Thanks.
