Help with 1st extraction

Hello everyone,

I'm prepared for my first DMT extraction but am not sure which method to choose. I've narrowed it down to Noman's tek and Marsofold's tek. Could an experienced user please help me with this decision? Thank you. As well, any important notes and tips are greatly appreciated.

I should state that I have 1 pound of pre-powdered mimosa root bark and have LYE and Naptha. I do not have a scale and do not have pH papers.

Marsofold's tek calls for 1 pound of mimosa root bark. I have 1 pound of powdered root bark. Does this matter?

Scale, $9 Amazon. pH papers, $3.50 Ebay, knowing your weights and pH... Priceless. I like Vovin's tek personally. It explains each step too which is nice for a beginner. Do not extract the entire 453 grams at once, it's better that you do 100g extractions to learn the ropes and prevent catastrophic failures. Also lye is VERY nasty, wear gloves and even eyewear if you have it. If you get any on you... make sure you have vinegar at hand to splash on yourself. I got a speck of lye right on my eyelid 2mm from my eye, burned like a mofo and the vinegar saved me from having a gross chemical burn.

Powdered root bark provides the most surface area for reactions to take place, so that's a good thing

Thanks for the advice. Wal-mart has an inexpensive gram scale I'm going to buy tomorrow. I'm going with Noman's tek for this one but will be considering Vovin's tek for a latter extraction. I'm actually going to try only 50g for the first extraction as I'd hate to waste any more on a possible mistake.

If you find that you don't like this tek, are unsuccessful with it, or get burned using lye -- check out the safe, inexpensive Q21Q21 Vinegar/Lime tek. It's awesome, pretty easy after practice, and definitely renders a good product in the end. (I have detested the idea of using lye since the beginning, so I always chime in with this tek...)

Actually, Q21Q21's tek is what I originally was going to go with. Honestly, ease and timeliness of the tek are quite important to me given my living situation(forced to live with my mother until graduate school). Norman's just seems to be the easiest and the fastest while giving good yields.

Of coarse, I could be wrong.

Actually, Q21Q21's tek seems to be just as timely and easy. Maybe I will give that a shot, thanks.
