You cant defat when its basic, the freebase salts move into the non-polar solvent. It has to be done while acidic but creates an evil emulsion.
 
Yeah sorry, I meant if you had already based then got an emulsion when pulling try to add more lye. If still acidified as above. Swim normally doest defat like that and does a double A/B instead like the lex tek. That gets rid of a lot of oils. Really with acacia you can spend your time at the start or at the end. If you spend time filtering properly, defatting and doing a double A/B you will spend less time recrystalizing and vice versa.
