there is one way: review and disassemble your problem trough logic
OR
just begin from new!

With a picture you might have a better chance for an answer.

Thank you

Can you start all over again and explain what have you been doing, what happened and what you actually need help with ? I do not understand from your post what is your problem?

By the way research should be done before you started with what ever you have done. Now you will have to be patient and wait for your answer.

Take a deep breath and start again and as Kyrolima said post a picture if you can

hahaha i apologize this is my first extraction and i just really want it to work. so basicly when i separated the 2 layers from my mixing jar a very fair amount of dark mimosa was filterd through the coffee filter as well. and im not sure what to do. i mean i could filter it all again but i think i would get the same result because of the coffee filter. so now im not sure what do do about it, lol its just staring at me.

Pouring the mimosa sludge and bestine through a coffee filter is not going to separate your layers. You need to separate the bestine from the mimosa sludge (by pulling the bestine off the top using a glass pipette, for example). When you go to freeze it, you want only the bestine, no droplets of mimosa soup.

cool. im not sure how clean its gunna be because i dident know a good seperation method at the time. but if it dosent come out as clean i can always re-X with some cold non sudsy 10% janitor strength ammonia:wink:

Ammonia is not for recrystallization. If you want to recrystallize, you need a solvent in which the solubility of DMT is good at warm temperatures and poor at cold temperatures... bestine is a good solvent for that.

The ammonia wash in Noman's tek was included as a step to clean potentially caustic residues from the product. It's probably not entirely effective for that... it can't access caustic residues inside of crystals, only on the surface. But consensus these days is that caustic residues aren't as large a concern as people once thought. Done properly, an ammonia wash won't do any harm... but there seem to have been problems with people doing it properly, as many people reported losing their product when they attempted it. Noman no longer recommends the ammonia wash.

While you're waiting for the DMT to precipitate, you might find reading the FAQ to be an instructive use of your time. In particular, the section on the best way to retrieve crystals after freezing probably has some information you're looking for.

It kinda sounds like you went through the tek instructions too fast. It's always best to study it. You are using chemicals that can harm your health.

In an extraction it is very important to not get any black mix in the solvent pull. If you do, then you need to either dump it back in the mix jar and pull again, or the container you put the solvent pull can be tipped to the side so sovent it on the side and the black impurity will cling to the bottom and can be wiped off with a tissue / napkin. If you freeze it, then it is trapped in the solvent and will need cleaning.
Every time you clean you lose some spice. Sometimes spice is so dirty from someone carelessly pulling impurities and causing many more steps of unneeded cleaning. If you are careful and take your time, you will get no black impurities and it goes in the freezer and comes out 12-24hrs later and can be scraped and smoked. No cleaning needed.

Just remember, there is no rush!! Calm and cool... Get the job done.. The last thing you want is the gods punnishing you because you diss respected the spice! (if this can actually happen)

Note:::::
Can someone please write an updated noman tek!!?? It is so confusing!!!
Let's make one with whole bark steps and one powdered. (if you have powdered click here) type thing.
