Hepatane recrystialization questions

hey Swim just acquired some bestine to finish some spice that had too many oils pulled within it.
Swim had Tried this once with some heated bestine and a glass tube, the material began being a dark yellow, when scraped was darker amber. this material(nickel sized) was submerged in 45ml of heated(not boiled) hepatane then gently stirred to break down the material. This sat for a few moments then decanted the fluid into a petri dish. this dried into a noticeably lighter jam , almost crystalline but too oily to handle.

Swim thought the hepatane was supposed to be heated for a re-xtal however is it not true that it pulls more oils when heated??

Any help would be appreciated

how much spice was it to begin with? around 25ml of warmed heptane/naphtha per gram of dmt is usually the amount. That same amount wouldnt hold all that dmt if it was cold, thats why you warm it in the first place, because it just about holds the dmt while not picking up the oil (so there should be the darker goo on the bottom), and then you stick it in the freezer and it should definitely come out cleaner.

wait a sec you mean to tell me that I freeze percip the hepatane, crystal will sink to the bottom a la the nalpha extractons?
Because Swim Fully evaped the hepatane was that the reason the product became oily? if so, then once in the freezer the preciped hepatane can be decanted off like the nalpha an reused? thanks..:shock:

just rextaled the almost gram and a half jam with hot hepatane 60ml, results are in the freezer.. will report back in how long like an hour good? I love these real time spice extractions!

60ml seems like even too much, if its warm... as I said 30ml per g of material is already enough, more than that and you will pick up more of the oils youre trying to clean from... Was there any undissolved goo on the bottom you decanted from?

anyways not to worry, if its not clean enough in your opinion you can always re-x again..

in one hour there should be some precipitation yeah but better leave for those 12 hours or so for everything to crash out

yes there was quite a bit of dark amber goo at the bottom, swim checked the rextal jar a few minutes ago and was surprised at what is crashing.. On another note swim just checked their other 6 jars from the latest pulls and its been 20 hrs and they are snowing! Swim hopes that these pulls were less fatty then the first ones. Swim believes that they broke the bark up way too well for a stb. Swim Grinded up the bark then soaked it in 99%alcohol for a few hours then dried on low low heat.
uh then ground some more in a few cases.. so yeah theres some oils in there.. Guess one could call this a hybrid ab/stb?

well the results are stil too oily to handle, though lightter in color. In the freezer this yellow material looks almost crystal but does not stay solid.. Could someone reclairify the removal of oils form the spice? swim took the resulting material and tried to rextal again with even less hepatane 15ml, and the results are even less satisfying.. Help!

Hey, Swim is still having problems, oily spice in warm bestine will not seperate any further. The lightly colored amber liquid 25ml is siphoned off and placed in the fridge too cool, soon it clouds and then placed in freezer. a couple of hours later quite a bit of light yellow spice falls out looking crystal. then once achieving room temp melts into a light amber goo that looks close to what Swim desires. But it is still too gummy and will not dry. IS there something swim is forgetting? It feels nearly impossible to get light yellow let alone pure white spice...
