It's kind of unfair to judge what people do in that kind of situation. In our minds, we like to think that in that scenario, we would run straight in, stop the traffic, try to see the extent of the injuries whilst telling someone to call an ambulance. Thing is, when this kind of thing happens in front of your eyes.....it scares you, sometimes to the point where you will freeze on the spot.

My above post was unnecessarily reactive...and obviously a quick vent of my anger.

I WOULD act in that situation. You must.

Fellow human being hit by car...adrenaline/shock/compassion/understanding flows...action occurs.

Petty emotional or mental processes must be put aside....move.

I know.... I know, and it's great that people do think like that, I'm just saying it's easy to think you would react like that, but perhaps not so easy to actually carry it out when it's right there in front of you, though I'd hope for the sake of the person you might witness be in an accident, that you would act and would do a damn fine job too.

But you see, it's not a thinking thing. It's a feeling the wells up and overtakes the body....primal instinct, surging compassion and intellectual logistical organization all happening simultaneously.

Obviously, there is thinking happening now, so that these words can be put out onto the screen, but in the moment the mind is overridden....instinct, intuition and intellect kick into overdrive....in this body anyway.

Anyway, I just get that welled up feeling and I get angry with inaction...in this case. It makes me angry with tears in my eyes.

I once took a First Aids workshop, and the guy (Doctor) told us that if someone gets hit by a car or a bus... we should call for help (an ambulance or the police) and check his/hers vital signs, then, we shouldn't let people get all around near the victim . He also told us that we shouldn't move the body unless a body part was having an hemorrhage, in which case, a tourniquet should be done with a belt. He emphasized the importance of not moving the body... go figure.
