Hexane, safety glasses

Hexane is used in the production of dmt. I always wear a gas mask, but I don't wear protective glasses. Should I still wear them? Will it affect me in any way?

Hexane wont "splash" your eyes, caustic soda can and will cause severe damage.
It could result in loss of eye or impaired vision.

Made the mistake of not wearing glasses last time and almost got caustic soup/lye mixture in my eye. Never gonna do that without glasses again I got lucky and I'm glad to still have my vision. Safety goggles and protective equipment is a must for these things! Best to not take any chances.

If you’re going to get a pair make sure you get the ones that fully cover your eyes and fit snugly around the skin around your eyes, don’t be fooled by the word safety glasses, most are not suitable for this type of use, and especially al the open varieties don’t offer much protection.

Something like this is preferable
