intro thread

hello hello. I hope you are all well ! This place is great I feel sheepish posting anything. I'm your basic musician turned mystic type ; i enjoy bad trips and long walks in the park? :) I'd like to learn more about DMT i know next to nothing just the basic basics. have had plenty of cannabis, mostly, interspersed with a few trip nights. I once exchanged emails with robert anton wilson that's mildly interesting i think

i enjoy bad trips
You enjoy bad trips until they start enjoying you. You'd better work it through, but I get what you mean.

Just remember set and setting. Personal safety is sort of a non negotiable. If you're into the tricky trips I recommend keeping a journal and setting intentions and hopes.

What are we hoping to learn. What are we ruminating on. Why do we want to learn 🤔 this helps set the stage for your trip and makes recall and lucid navigation easier.

Practicing unconditional surrender is also beneficial, especially when you bite off a bit more than you can chew. Remember, the dmt didn't smoalk us we smoalked the dmt and we have to accept what ever comes out of Pandora box. Fortunately, intense trips all come to an end eventually. 🙃 so if yoi find yourself a bit surprised just lean back and relax and remember it's gonna stop sooner than you feel with time dilation 😅

Welcome aboard 🙏

Pumpy,

Welcome to the Nexus. Please feel free to speak up. All are welcome here.

Do you really enjoy bad trips? Or is it just the aftermath (huzzah, it's over!) and the lessons learned (these can be deep and wide) that come from them?

Have you had a lot of difficult experiences. What do you feel you have learned from them?

The Wiki link above shows extraction paths to DMT. If you choose to try it I would strongly encourage you (in this era of contaminated drug supply) to extract your own.

If you are prone to rough rides, I want to warn you that although the DMT experience is over quickly on the consensual reality clock, there is really very little to compare to a difficult DMT experience. The intensity is seriously off the scale of anything.

Be sure to have a couple days available for the aftermath if you are prone to rough rides - a little extra self care and integration time can really help.

I know it sounds hard to believe but I had a very difficult oral experience with DMT and the aftermath of it was that a life long phobia was completely cured. 13-14 years later, I am still phobia free. I would not recommend that as a path to curing phobia but I recognize that profound changes can result from rough rides. . . .

Perhaps you were just joking and that was like a personals intro. If so I am grinning.

There is much to be learned here and about DMT in general. The rabbit hole just goes on and on. Careful . . . if you lean in you might learn about a lot more than DMT . . . .things like how to extract other drugs, such as mescaline at home, chemistry, biochemistry, brain neurotransmitters, just how diverse thinking DMT users are and a whole lot more.

I'm glad you signed up and I hope you like what you find here.

What a write-up, @Pandora 🙇‍♂️

I believe you ;)
Good to know that there are a few who went in these dark waters. Much respect 🙏❤️

Great to meet you. I'm also fairly new to this, but I've had a crash course over the last week or so. I've had a handful of journeys so far, and have gotten so much out of the work. I'm excited for your journey!

Today's trip was playful and fun, no trauma or anything like that. It just felt like I got to play for a good 20 minutes. Seeing entities here and there, mostly in different patterns and symbols

Can you describe your trip more?
It was a very fast trip to hyperspace. I was there after 2 hits off of my puffco. I was immediately greeted to some incredible shapes. I can't really describe what they were doing. But they were moving around in very specific patterns, in a very fluid way. Almost in a rectangular 3D shape. Colors would change, but the main visual stayed consistent. It was an incredible sight. And then I felt the urge to open my eyes. I was surrounded by alien language from the looks of it. I could reach out and interact with them. And I was just surrounded by so much amazingness. When I looked down at my arms, I saw a print like I was tattooed, but it was moving and fluid. It looked alien. The visuals continued for quite a while. I had music on it first, but I was guided to turn it off and just sit in quiet. That was the right move.

Thanks, I've lurked here many years (i always do)

I feel that I thought that i should enjoy bad trips when i was a teenager. I suppose there must be some manner of conditioning happening if one emerges intact from a truly soul killing bad trip, or at least that's my optimistic take. On the other hand i don't see why anybody ever has to go through one. But it is dangerous no matter how well prepared your mind and body are imo. The nature of memory plays a role too in that I am reimagining my bad trips (all in the distant past) now and most likely deleting the worst most painful parts as we do. I was also trying to sound jokey thanks for noticing :)
As far as difficult experiences: I haven't had much trouble with those while tripping after I turned 20 and pulled my head out of my ass. The tripping bad experiences taught me to spot liars and stop being a coward (not related in this instance)
