Hot Plate

My friend is in the market for a hot plate to be used for distillation and a soxhlet. They are a very pricey item but I found this one for only $69.95 new. Has anyone any opinions or experience on this piece? It goes up to 600F and will fit both flat and round bottom flasks.

very convenient, i know. The only thing that scares me is it says "Made in China" instead of a brand :?
