How basic does dmt have to be to smoke it?

HEY! The reason I ask is becaues I was going to freeze precip some spice, but my local supply shop has stopped selling naphtha, and it's the only pure source I know of. I don't really want to have to evaporate xylene or toluene. What would happen if I fumaric acid salted out spice out of the xylene, and then just added baking soda to the fasw to get the ph above 7, and just let the water evaporate. Sure I'd be smoking small amounts of some baking soda, and whatever biproduct from the acid/base reaction, but that's probably not too bad. Could this work? Or are my ideas insane?

Apoc it would wise to convert baking soda to washing soda (na2co3) by heating strongly , then the ph woulg go upto 11 which is more suitable for freebasing the spice salt
