How do DMT flashbacks effect you?

Frequent hyperspace explorer for going on 5 years now and I get flashbacks to my really intense breakthrough experiences all the time and I personally wouldn't say they were traumatic, I don't think I've had a breakthrough experience id classify as "traumatic" myself.

Usually when I come out of the breakthrough experience I remember absolutely nothing for the first couple weeks then it all comes back to me in bits and pieces over the following months. I personally feel as if the flashbacks are giving me the ability to take the experience in more and integrate it into my life even more.

I just hear most of the time people have flashbacks are due to traumatic experiences but even my near death hyperspace journeys I wouldn't classify as traumatic, I personally welcome those experiences because those are the ones I gain the most healing from.

What's everyone else's experience with DMT flashbacks and how do they affect you?

Never had one 🤷‍♂️, so zero effects on me. To keep the discussion clear, could you define what you mean by a flashback? The term is used to describe a wide range of experiences, which can make it difficult to have a precise conversation without a shared understanding.

Just an intense visual flashback hitting out of nowhere, like I keep getting sent back to hyperspace randomly for a second when just going about my day. Almost puts me right back in the experience in a way.
Also noticed if I'm doing yoga or in a deep meditation they will also sometimes peak through and I'll get a rush of anxiety/excitement. Anyone else who've I've talked to who's had flashbacks like this from a breakthrough dose usually had a pretty rough time or trouble surrendering. Personally I have no issues with surrendering and think these flashbacks peep through into reality only from a very memorable or powerful experience, in my experience at least.

Mine have been a lot like yours, where it comes as fragments of memory that pop up over the next few weeks after a major experience. The memories usually seem to be tied to an intense emotion and feeling of revelation. For me, it does feel a bit like I'm drawn back into the original experience.

Have you ever tried 5-MeO-DMT? That will give you some extremely serious flashbacks that literally will draw you back to the raw sensation of its breakthrough. I'm guessing DMT is doing something similar on an energetic and biological level, though probably to a lesser degree.

Done a lot of NN-DMT and I actually have my very first bufo experience coming in May that I'm super excited for. The flashbacks don't seem to bother me, I use them to help integrate my experience into my life and to reflect on what happened to me. I can only imagine what the flashbacks from 5-MeO are gonna be like but I'm definitely ready for it
And yes I definitely know what you mean when you say it's usually tied to an intense emotion during the experience and feeling of revelation. Seems my flashbacks only pop from really intense breakthrough work but I kinda like having the ability to revisit randomly

Never had them, either. I'm not a very visual guy, more of a kinetic type. Don't know if it plays any role in it.
Only had similar flashbacks in dreams. One time I smoked changa in a dream and had a full on experience with sounds & visuals.
After aya, there were a number of dreams where I have drunk in a forest at night. They were so real, so I still question if it happened or not.
Oh, these dreams occur after heavy sessions. The same happened with mushrooms a few times.

I hear about people getting flashbacks in dreams a lot but never personally happened to me yet, mine usually come when I'm at work or doing exercise or meditation

A matter of personal biochemistry, maybe. The DMT dream was so intense that I awoke from it and was in an altered state for a few minutes.
As you mentioned, they usually present some unresolved topic still needing integration or replay of high intensity experience, ime.

Very nice, you're in for quite an experience! The degree to which it's hardcore can't be understated, but it's also pretty different from DMT. If we were to make comparisons to the altered states of dreaming and deep dreamless sleep, DMT would have the endless complexity and variety of dreams and 5-MeO would be the infinite void-like nothing/everything of deep dreamless sleep. Being under the influence of 5-MeO seemingly bypasses your subconscious and taps you right into your unconscious, so as you can imagine, the trip itself takes on different characteristics. The flashbacks it can produce are way more palpable than I can express here. They can lay you out for a period of time while you wait for it to pass.
