How do I add an image to a post?

This may be a dumb question, sorry for that.

I click the little button that reads "insert image" but it wont let me paste and no box pops up to browse or paste into. all it does is the img / img code thing.

Does it have to do with being a nursery only member?

Did you ever try the "ATTACH" button with each of your posts?
