How does this dish look? been in the freezer for about 2 days. I followed cyb's salt tek. I also used Sunny side Naptha for the solvent.

Tek: Cybs salt tek
Solvent: Sunny Side Naptha
Base: Food grade lye
Plant Material: ACRB

I think this is the 3 or 4 pull. The jar was made months ago. I diddnt have a PH meter or a scale so I had to eye ball the ingredients.

seems about right then from 3/4 pull and especially from ACRB i only use MHRB so dry it up and smoke it up :)

I can see several crystals in the naptha that are not stuck to the glass. Should I pull out the dish from the freezer, evape down a little bit, then place back in the freezer to get more spice to stick to the plate?

If they are not large crystals they will melt into the filter as they reach room temp.

Evap & re precipitation would be your best bet.
The remaining solvent after the second freeze can be saved & washed with water & sodium carbonate to remove oils/fats & junk from extraction while leaving any residual small amounts of dmt, then reused in the next extraction rather than evapped away completely.

Cool. Yeah, I want to save as much Naptha as possible. Even if it's only 20$ a gallon.

if your just pour it off very slowly the crystals should stay put in the glass dish mine have always done that, some stick some are lose. i just very slowly pour it off and the lose ones stick to the corner. watch as you pour you'll get the idea, then leave the dish to dry off somewhere, if you want to speed it up us a small pc fan, not a room fan blowing on to it but a small low powered pc case fan above it suck air away from it rather than blowing aove it, works a treat and keeps dust stuff away to :)

In the pic, do you see the white spots? Are those "white spots", crystals? On my last pull, I tried to keep some of the white spots that were suspended in the solvent, like you mentioned. I noticed that the suspended "white spots" turned into orange crystals once dried. I have been using a room fan pointed directly on the dish for drying. So I should just let the dish room dry?

Also, I need to wash my solvent before use in another pull? Is this info in the wiki? I'm curious now. I will be looking into this. :)

Thanks for your help, concombres!

The white floaters are crystals. The coloration is fine as long as its not from base soup that remained in your solvent after pulling.
I always recrystallize with 20ml naphtha per gram of spice once or twice just to be sure its free of lye. You can aslo do a sodium carbonate was on the spice to further clean it up.

The solvent does not absolutely need to be washed, but if your planning to use it again, its a good idea. The plant fats & oils will build up & come out in your product the next time you use it, giving a gooier, more impure product.
If you take the time to clean your spice & solvent well, & figure out what works for your particular case to remove coloration & impurities, you'll eventually figure out how to get a nice white powder & turn it into clear crystal shards.

& don't forget to thank spawn for contributing as well ;)

Thank you spawn. :) I love your plate!

I have only done a couple extractions so far and still need to do a lot of learning. I have already learned a lot in this thread. My yields so far have been really bad (I think my PH's may have been way off during the extractions). Crystals are a lot easier to handle and look cool.
