Migrated topic.

My friend said he’s trying to do the nomans tek as this will be his first extraction. He knows you get questions like this all the time but can’t find anything specific so he asked me to post this. He wants to know about how long will it take to complete this process from start to finish. He got pre powdered bark so that should elimate some time. Also he’s read that your supposed to double the water if it’s pre powdered but some people say it doesn’t matter. Any tips would be helpful as it being his first time he’s kind of nervous ab yield and if the bark is high quality. Thanks in advance for any advice or tips.

While one could rush through a tek in a day, it's better to schedule a weekend and be leisurely about it, especially in the beginning. That way you can take time understand what is happening at each step along the way.

No need to double or change any amounts, just stick to the tek as it's written and you'll more than likely be successful. Never throw anything away till you have a satisfactory yield of your final product, and feel free to stop in the chat with any questions or troubleshooting issues that may arise. Sometimes it can take a while for people to notice activity in the welcome chat so be patient if no one answers you right away.

For us the things that took the longer time was to prepare everything for safety purpose and handling facilities.
There a few glass items not so unexpensive that can change the way you extract and help your more.
We started with glass bottle that did the job but there were not easy things to do for closing the top, the caps we had got plastic lid that lye a solvent destroy.
Few beaker, glass vessels is cheap on ebay and is designed to. Carefull to wich glas you choose, pyrex is more expansive, boro is ok with low temp.
Think to wear gloves and glass always, a mask and ventilated area (or air hoover) is needed too.
You should take the time needed to do the things rightly. If you pass to quickly on a step you could have not satifying results, taking the time, as for everything, should be considered before doing an extraction. Having safety concerns too (what you do if you break a vessel whit lye in, the solution splashed on all your kitchen ?) Thinking to this, i think will lead to your friend to a more relaxed state that seems confortable.
