How long syrian rue seeds are viable?

I had a small bottle of commercial seed stored in a closet for 8 years and they germinated quite well, many of my plants are from those. If they are dried properly and stored in a cool dark place I expect they could last 20 years. Dry them with gentle desiccant, flame seal in a glass ampule, and store at 4°C and I have no doubt they would be viable 100 years later. Its all about storage.
As with most 'weeds' I've found the best germination method is to scratch up some ground, sprinkle seeds on, and water the patch daily.
Ignore what people say about P. harmala hating water and dying if they get wet. They are plants, they need water. The small seedlings will die if left completely dry through a sunny and hot day. My biggest producers are those that get hit by a sprinkler.

Try pouring boiling water on them, someone here has had seedlings germinate from the discarded leftovers of a harmala extraction thrown in their garden!
My little experience : from the same batch droped in a pot, some germinate after 1 week, some after few month and some in between.
I guess in natural habitat, not all the seeds germinate at the first rain in case of drough following (a way to not put all your eggs in one basket).
