How long to wait for DMT to precipitate?

I was curious what you guys think would be an ideal length of time to wait for DMT crystals to precipitate out of naptha. I am using Noman's tek and I am putting my naptha in the freezer for 6 hours and then reusing it for another pull. Is this too short for DMT to crystallize? I've been getting a very low yield from my extraction (<.002% of my bark weight) and I'm trying to troubleshoot where I might have gone wrong.

Don't, it's all a learning process, that's why your here asking questions.. Asking questions in my opinion is one of the smartest things one can do to better themselves and their knowledge.

^ Thanks for the confidence bump. Luckily I was smart enough to use only half of my bark for my first extraction. I've really learned a lot about what not to do through this forum and from my first extraction. Hopefully I'll be able to get better results with my second extraction.

the way i do it:
smaller pulls like 0.7ml nafta for each 50gr of bark (35ml pulls)
i put it in freezer then it becomes cloudy and milky.
After +-12hours ( nap time ) the chrystals have formed and are waiting to be seperated from the solvent
when the xtals have formed, my naphta is mostly clear again.

Thanks for the help guys! I've been letting this last pull sit for about 10 hours now and the crystals are coming along nicely, much bigger than before. This one will probably have more crystals than my first 4 pulls combined!

Question: I keep hearing that the naptha should be cloudy in order to precipitate. However, I've never noticed my naptha being cloudy, even though I'm only using 50ml in my pulls. Mine always looks clear but dark pink. What do you guys mean by cloudy? Should I evaporate some of my naptha before freezing?

I can see the difference at least between 12 and 24 hours

well if you check once in a while the status of your naphta in the freezer. The naphta wont be as clear as before. As it gets colder,
the crystals start to fall out of the solution and thus the naphta will have clouds of forming crystals.
I guess if you do 50ml pulls of 50gr bark you are ok, no evaporation should be done.
What i do is combine +/- 6 pulls of 35ml and freeze precip.

For efficiency you can do all the pulls, combine the lot and evaporate the naphtha down so that it becomes more saturated. This makes the DMT more readily precipitate when cooled.

If your naphtha is spice rich it will cloud up within minutes of being placed in the refrigerator. I would focus on how to get more spice into your Naphtha so that your not wasting it. I understand that 48 hours in a cold freezer gets everything out, but if you have spice in there its screaming to get out as soon as the temps drop a few degrees.

I offer you this tidbit of info.

with large pulls i would do like 5 * 100ml (100ml for each 50gr bark ) so you have 500ml pull.
Evaporate it to 200 or 250ml naptha. Normally it should become cloudy also and then freeze precip.

Interesting tip! After I finish freezing this pull I'll try letting my naptha soak for like a week. Maybe this'll help get the rest of the DMT out of my solution.
