How much should we share?

I've been thinking recently about how much we should share on this platform. Nexus is not a psychotherapy group and more a community of like-minded people.
Still, the nature of our interest and work on ourselves coincide. We all saw countless people who write just to get support and reassurance. I am a pretty open
guy myself, but sharing in a public space on the net has its limitations. I've been questioning my attitude and desire to provide advice recently. Who am I to say anything to another person? I know nothing about them or their life circumstances. All we work with are some digital personas. I do try to write only from my own experience, but I am just a human too.

How do you all relate to this aspect of Nexus? This forum is much more than dmt extractions techs at this point. Maybe I am just overthinking as usual, but it's important to me.

I resonate with this brother. To me it seems there is no right answer to your question, and it will always depend on the case and how it is presented. Some cases touch on dangerous subjects that may or may not relate to potentially life-threatening situations - in this case, no matter how the context is laid out, I believe the Nexus should not act as an arbiter, and should not dispense advice that the OP might take with higher priority than the advice of, say, a medical or legal professional.

In other cases, someone might be asking something that is tightly related to the Nexus or a good fit for the perspective of specific members from our community - in this case I think it's reasonable to dispense advice with the important caveat that it's all subjective and should not be treated as the universal truth.

But again, I don't think there's one ultimately correct answer, there will always be instances where neither of the above situations apply and you'll be left wondering whether you should or should not give your two cents. In those cases, I usually choose to abstain, unless it's something that is exceptionally relevant to my own experience or perspective.

You're right about one thing though - the Nexus has become so much more than just a platform for drug education. I would compare it more closely to a tight-knit community of similar interests with a very broad spectrum of topics of discussion. And I love it.

northape, you write ‘Who am I to say anything to another person?’

Well, you are everyone, a well respected member. You don’t have to know the other person.

Everyone who writes a post wants a response. We all like attention. If possible just react.

Maybe not knowing too much about another member is better. It might lead to a more objective exchange of information.

I've turned some of my soul inside out, even on the internet in a few places.

I know what I need to know to extract my own and don't much poke my head into other people's projects nowadays.
But I want things to go well for people and figure the Nexus has it handled helping give people their best likelihoods.
And the staff rules frown upon and don't condone drug seeking/possessing/extracting behavior in the form of irresponsible intentions, actions, results.
So in the quest for soulful happenings in the human experience the Nexus has it's purpose.

I kinda feel, being a man, its easier to type our feelings than speak them to another person. As I read someone saying a while back, Women tend to do group things with other women more while Men tend not to talk about emotions in their groups.

So overall, I am happy that forum members both speak their mind and offer support to others.

I think that, although there is some overlap the line is fairly clear.

People come here primarily to discuss things relating to psychedelics and psychedelic experiences. Where psychedelics can traverse the range of experience from personal life and traumas, all the way to transcendent experiences and otherworldly encounters is where there may be uncertainty at times.

So where the psychedelics or subsequent reactions have opened up a terrain that would be the usual domain of therapy, there should usually be much more reserved input, and pointing people in the direction of professional help if need be.
Where it is more psychedelics specfic terrain is where people would be more inclined to share and discuss although even here, experiences may sometimes be intensely personal even if going behind the 'person' so to speak.

I would agree and in that way can be useful, just as people more often seek AI input for guidance these days. Still, there is usually a clear distinction even on here I think between where the issues raised can be discussed here in a supportive way even if relating to the level of the personal unconscious or life difficulties, and where those issues reach level where they would be best addressed by dedicated practitioners or services designed for that.

Thanks to everyone for your reflections. It gave me something to think about. I agree with all of you, but still struggle to find a balance.
Most likely, I will continue to ponder for a while before coming to my own conclusions. I am quite slow that way, and it takes time for me.
Sometimes, my sharing feels so fake, even if it is honest and comes from the heart. It feels pretty simple though: you engage or remain a passive observer.
One thing is certain, I need to look from the perspective of another if my post is of benefit. Do no harm is my motto here.

Peace 🕊️

Maybe you do at an abstract level, in the sense of being able to define that balance. However in practice I don't think you struggle at all, and I'd say that's what actually matters. At least from my perspective.
