How To Make Cannabis Oil With Mike Wise (Rick Simpson Oil, RSO, FECO, Phoenix Tears, High THC Oil) by The Mike Wise Show
After you evaporate the ethanol, are these extracts still terpene rich (assuming that one starts with terpene rich material)? What has you experience been?
My own extracts some years back retained much of their aroma and were quite devastatingly effective via the oral route (after further processing into a glycerine dispersion).yes, ethanol is a full spectrum solvent, so you are grabbing lots of terpenes and cannabinoids along with just THC-A. The final concentrate will be a full spectrum mix of Cannabis, which I believe to be the most beneficial.
Tbf, the top notes do inevitably get diminished. My process was a bit more involved though. I ran acetone through the herb in a soxhlet apparatus, then dripped the acetone into hot ethanol to distill it off and convert to a tincture. The tincture was dripped into hot VG to drive off the ethanol. Had I known at the time, I could have used PG and made a vape juice since much of the oily stuff from the weed was insoluble in VG. Even so, it dispersed quite acceptable on shaking, especially when at body temperature.@Transform
Thanks for replying.
Good to hear about the aroma staying there. I was concerned it might be mostly lost due to evaporation of ethanol.
