My friend noticed people taking certian mg doses of dmt. He was wondering how to determine mg of his last extraction. He thinks he is smoking way too much in attempts to get completly dissolved. He just got a Vapor genie. Before he was just packing bowls in a tin foil pipe.:roll:

How on earth you get a balance scale to work at mg levels?
Are there such scales?

I also very surprised at the cheap levels mentioned.
Digital Mg level scales usually cost quite much and if going one step better 0,1 mg, then the prices start to be ridiculous high.

As i don't own a mg scale, my attempts to figure out dose weights goes like this:
I do have a scale weighting 0,1 grams, so i first weigh up 0,5 grams of the substance.
I then divide this pile into 10 equal sized lines or piles with a razor.
Each line or pile now is about 50mg.
If needed this can be divided one more time to piles of 25mg.
It is very important to know that this only works if the substance in matter is totally uniform.
If the substance is consisting of very fluffy parts as well as chunks of more solid pieces this can give very false results.

To be honest, I have never owned a mg scale in my life..nor have I ever weighed out a dose of vaporized DMT. I just weighed my extraction, made change and eyeballed my doses. I always extract the same amount of DMT, and I always make change with the same amount of leaf so it is easy for me to just eyeball a dose. It takes some time though.
Trying to eyeball goo vs crystal etc is a bit more tricky as density can differ, and then you can easily overshoot.

I was entirely jjoking about using that kind of scale.
I do like Growers idea about weighing .5g and breaking it up a few times. But that can also be slightly misleading. A pea sized crystal should weigh around 30mg or so. I always keep that in mind. Just use pea sized chunks. If you have a powdered dmt then you just put a thin layer of spice across the top of your herbs or whatever you use. Don't pack just spice alone. And certainly don't just cram a bunch in. What matters more than how much you put in is how you hit it. You can pack 200mg but if you hit it right you can get a 50mg hit off of it. But if you pack 30mg and clear it you're only going to get a 30mg hit.

Yes; i use such a balance scale for measuring mgs. Not as rudimentary as the picture above thought... It takes some time to weigh something accurately but on the other hand it needs no batteries, maintenance is easy and as long as your weights are accurate, you have confidence in the measurements.Grower said:

I highly recommend two scales, depending on the precision you need. They are both quite accurate.
The 0.01 g scale, and a calibration weight. This scale goes up to 1000 grams (100,000 mg):

I use Dillon balance scales. Can weigh 30mg easy (.44 grains) and up. I also guesstimate. Maybe it's reckless but it's sort of hard to not know when enough is enough. With vaped DMT anyway. These are good scales though and better than anything digital in the same price range. About $70 USD.
