How to finish off harmalas extraction?

Hey all, i have followed this guide
The Tao of Rue Extraction - DMT-Nexus Wiki
up to step 10, i've done a number of filters and i'm left with a yellow sludge, i want to do one final step to finish it off, the guide calls for sodium carbonate, which i don't have and will be time to order it in

just wondering if anyone else has other suggestions, would like to wash out the last bit of salt and vinegar and get a dry product, i have heard can use methylated spirits, which i might prefer

any suggestions?

How did you do step 5 with no sodium carbonate?

Just go buy it from the supermarket, will set you back a few dollars. It's sold as washing soda in the cleaning isle.

You'll want to go around a couple of times to get a pretty decent product.

Your final product will need to be freebase powder if you want to smoke it too, the acid crystal is only good for oral use.

Used lye for step 5 as per the guide says lye is ok for that step.
i have never seen washing soda in my country before, i'll have a look today

I think you're in Australia like me? It's there close to the dishwashing tablets iirc.

I found it, i looked it up before i posted this on coles website, but it said it was discuntinued, regardless it was there haha... i'll give it a shot

Sodium carbonate can also be made by heating sodium bicarbonate (bicarb, baking soda - but NOT baking powder!) in a stainless steel pan until it stops 'levitating'. That will give you an anhydrous, food-grade product - which on occasion can be useful.
