I honestly think you should stop in your practical chemistry attempts at least until you've learned which salts CO2 forms and which acid makes oxalates. At present it appears your lack of knowledge is putting you at risk of harming yourself and others.

Search for some online chemistry education resources and get back to us.

PS oxalates are formed from oxalic acid so the answer to your first question is no. You most definitely need to be cautious about the assumptions you're making on the basis of your rudimentary awareness of chemistry.
