How to obtain a pipette

I've been having a lot of trouble obtaining a proper pipette. They've been taken off the shelves in pretty much every store they used to have them. I've tried to order one online but i can only buy in bulk or suffer very expensive shipment costs. I suppose one can find a proper pipette on ebay or amazon but I live in northern europe (NL) and i'm afraid it will take too long. Does anyone know of a website I can order this? Preferably in my area.

I've considered using a turkey baster but I can't find them in stores either.. I don't know how to order this online either, a little help is appreciated.

Otherwise, does anyone know of another method to transfer naphta without buying expensive lab equipment?

Any laboratory equipment store. Nothing sketchy about buying a pipette and the matching rubber ball.

They should give you a pipette for some coins at the pharmacy.

To transfer naphtha... It depends on the tek. It's simply poured off with IMO the best tek, that is q21q21's tek.

Buying a pipette is no problem in any country. You definately shouldn't worry about such matters.

The issue was that lab stores don't deliver to "particulier". The only site i know in my area that does is currently out of stock.

I've asked around at pharmacies and they do have them , they are just quite small. I thought i'd need a long one to fit in a big jar. But perhaps i'm too cautious, is it okay if i just stick my hand in the jar to transfer naphta?

Otherwise, i suppose i can just decant the naphta. I'm using Noman's tek , do you think it's okay to pour the naphta?

And, i'm not very nervous about skewy things. I don't expect the blues to come busting my house any time soon.
But perhaps if somebody had a location or something he/she'd rather keep it private.

Yea you should be fine to stick your hand in the container if it's wide enough for it. I'd probably wear gloves of course, so that you don't get lye all over your wrist

Decanting works, check what your hose is made out of though.

Pouring works depending on your container shape. Give it a try. You will probably get some of the lye/water along with it so you'd need to still decant, pipette or pour it again.

I deffinately recommend getting a larger pipette (10+ ml), a triple valve bulb and some smaller 1ml pipettes for getting the last little bit of naphtha. That's what I use but everyone is different, so experiment and find what works for you

what is usefull too is to search on like ebay for a glass syringe.
Translate this to german and u will find german supplier with syringe upto 50ml

Thanks for the input guys. I think i've ordered a proper one now. Also ordered a copperwire spoon for mixing lye (if this is dangerous please tell me !!) . It was labeled a "Natrium spoon" .

I'm lucky enough to be enrolled in a lab course in my university. Free access to disposable pipettes! I'll need to make sure to save a few extra for the future.
