aloha. i've had a few experiences— each was hellish but worthwhile, and i'm really appreciative of psychedelics, but— skipping past that, i've got a sort-of urgent question.

hoping someone can point me in the right direction? i'm really sick (idiopathic pulmonary hypertension) and need help healing, so i'm trying to find my way to a shaman in the amazon, but— how the hell do you get there? from a bedroom in the States -> to a tribe in the world's deepest jungle.

know anything? had experience? know someone that knows? what country to go to, where to find a guide, what it might cost? put me in touch? i'm not ready to die yet? my backpack is packed.

It isn't that hard to get to the Amazon.

Get a flight from US to Ecuador / Peru. Ecuador has roads into their main Amazon cities. Peru you'd need to fly take a boat to Iquitos.

Then when you get there you can find plenty of places offering ayahausca ceremonies. They are not all the same though, some are little more than money grabbing enterprises, others 5* resort retreats (and prices to match) others have gifted healers

Im unfamiliar with commercial ayahuasca retreats... As has been said, you don't necessarily need to go to the amazon to try ayahuasca, but I understand some people desire that experience.

There were some threads about aya retreats in the past here, try and search a bit maybe you find good info. Maybe also try and contact NGOs like ICEERS, they might have info on trustable retreats.
