Gday everyone, first post! I was a lurker on the old forum for a while, never made any posts but now the time has come for me to learn and grow my knowledge of entheogens!

I became interested in tryptamines in early 2022 by listening to the joe rogan experience (lol) on the way to training. when I was younger if I asked about shrooms my mum would get angry and give me a scare story about "how they gave her brain damage", after trying weed I understood that my mum wasn't always 100% correct about substances and that opened my mind to learning on my own. A few months after I met my dad, he told me about his experience with psilocybin and it was a very different story.

Since then I've tried shrooms once (had 1 gram with weed but didn't feel much different) and im planning to gain more experience in the field of tryptamines. Thanks for reading.

Edit: I attempted cybs hybrid atb tek with some acacia acuminata typical phyllode bark last year and got no results:(

Hello, welcome and good to hear form you. We've had lurkers who've lurker for far longer than you so I hope you find that active engagement here helps you achieve your learning goals more effectively.

What motivated you to ask your mother about shrooms? from the way you put it, it sounds like you asked her more than once. It also sounds like your parents separated when you were rather younger - and you've also piqued my interest regarding exactly what your dad said about psilocybin. It sad to hear that your mother was, apparently, traumatised by her experience - but it's also possibly an unfortunate effect of society's taboos leading to a lack of awareness of how and where to use mushrooms most effectively. I can personally confirm that they can, at times, be unexpectedly terrifying - but also indescribably amazing, or hilarious beyond belief. With that being said, I applaud your intention to better inform yourself at this stage.

As far as acacia extraction goes, I would point you in the direction of extracting from the phyllodes, as using bark carries a high risk of killing the tree. We also have an acacia cultivation thread, which would be the way to go for self-sufficiency in the long term.
