In my constant effort to find answers I found out about this forum from using ChatGPT of all things.

I'm 42 and fairly new to DMT ( tried it twice ) and have only messed with mushrooms/psychedelics for the last 4 years. Through my mushroom use I've encountered several reoccurring entities and have been told what I'm describing sounds like a DMT trip, I'm here to learn more about the entity phenomena and perhaps take another stab at trying DMT. For whatever reason I feel that doing so successfully is the " next step " in this strange path I've found myself on.

I look forward to lurking the vast amount of information this place offers.

Welcome to the community, @DelusionsOfGrandeur!

You and many others walk the path of trying to figure all of this wonderful, bizarre stuff out. Answers sometimes come, but often they carry more questions with themselves. It's an infinite matryoshka doll of weirdness, but the journey is definitely worth it. You're in the right place, and it sounds like you're bringing the right mindset.

Not to mention the absolutely awesome profile picture you've chosen. Love how many layers there are in a simple image like this.

Enjoy the forum and looking forward to see what you bring into the fold. <3

This describes the experience pretty well, the answers are rarely satisfying and simply lead to more questions. I find the pursuit keeps me focused and helps stop me from shelving the experience as mere novelty, there is something there.... almost tangible but fleeting.

I look at it the following way: even if I never reach any grand truth or profound revelation, one thing is almost guaranteed - a deep sense of just how little I know, and how little is under my direct control. This alone so so supremely humbling and grounding that it can serve as a solid foundation for building a balanced worldview upon which to drape one's experience. It's a wonderful process that can be very challenging at times. I've asked myself whether all of this is even worth it, and at times I've been close to answering negatively, but ultimately I always reach the light at the end of the fog and gloom.

Welcome to the Nexus @DelusionsOfGrandeur ! Glad you found your way here :)

Mushrooms can be indeed quite close to DMT. I'd say they have a less clear headspace (that's not necessarily negative), are more loopy, and are more ego dissolving.

About questions and answers: an attitude I've found helpful is contemplation. No questions, no answers, just seeing and living this incredible experience that in one way or the other is part of our mind and our reality, whatever it is. Of course there's also a place for questions and answers, but in my case I limit those to personal topics. Beyond the personal, I'm trying to learn to observe and let myself be amazed and humbled without creating some narrative about it.
