I think the way I feel is...

Migrated topic.

Well...

Fuck it! and Fuck you! This is me! This is who I am! This is my religion! I know I am right in thinking that I should have free will to practice my religion/spirituality in any way I see fit! So fuck you!

Being somebody who only uses botanical intoxicants, I pretty much do whatever I want... none of my cacti or other plants are veiwed as drugs by my family or friends unless I choose to tell them... This is perhaps due to the fact that I grow tons of other stuff like peppers and what not and I don't preform extractions or other weird looking actions, and I think this is a very positive thing.

My friends and family know that I do not use "hard drugs" and know that I never will, my mother has even accepted my use of entheogens and believes it is a positive force in my life.

I don't know were this post was going, I was just thinking...

More to come...

Well thats good that entheogenic substances are a positive force in your life and I totally understand your frustration against the authorities who suppress what I consider to be your rights. There are often two options. One do them and just avoid getting caught. Two make a serious effort to push for rights to use your substances. But yea I am not sure where you were going with this post either but it sounded like you were venting some kind of frustration and I second that.

maaan, if this wasn't 'coatl then I would have called for the mods to provide a slap on the wrist... Probably a first on the nexus

I can edit it if y'all want me to... I know how many of you feel about this subject.

If you find the language offensive, I'd be glad to edit that part.

I'm not sure if explaining more would be a good thing or not...what'd y'all think?

I want to turn the Earth into a garden...

Theres so much more I have to say... but should it be said?
... but should it be said?

Speaking it makes it a reality. Always speak your mind, it is you that weaves the dream.

edit: Heh, post 50. I am Enlightened.

I want to create a decent place were people do not have to live in fear of war or violence.

I want to create a place were the people are not tricked into allowing the world to be run by the rich.

I want a place were we can have enough food and water, fresh air and space.

I want to create a workable society.

I want to restore this planet and remove the scars which mankind has left upon our Earth.

I want the vaule of my society not to be measured by the amount of money we have, how large our army is, or the amount of land we command but by the contentment of our people.

Will we hide in the shadows or will we stand up and do this? The Earth, she needs us and I fear that only we, the entheogenic community know the truth, only we know the true extent of humanitys diconnection from nature, from each other...

Please...

Not to be contrary, but this has sparked some questions for SWIM:
I want to create a decent place were people do not have to live in fear of war or violence.
Do people ever really have to live in fear? Or is this an emotion that the individual must take responsibility for?

I want to create a place were the people are not tricked into allowing the world to be run by the rich.

Or perhaps what's needed is a system in which wealth is awarded based on merit, and the wealthy are those who are best able to allocate resources.

I want a place were we can have enough food and water, fresh air and space.

That can only mean either redistribution of wealth and resources, environmental and economic regulation, or eugenic regulation.

I want to create a workable society.

Workable for who and for what? Authoritarian or utilitarian?

I want to restore this planet and remove the scars which mankind has left upon our Earth.

This is generally referred to as eco-terrorism or eco-facism. This is a violent endeavor despite its peaceful goals, though one must take into consideration that nature itself is quite brutal, gruesome, and violent.

I want the vaule of my society not to be measured by the amount of money we have, how large our army is, or the amount of land we command but by the contentment of our people.

Perhaps people are already too content and complacent, and so they are guided by those who seek to take advantage of this for their own greater demand for contentment and their longing for complacency. Certainly the quality of a people and its resources should outweigh its quantity in valuation, but perhaps this quality can be better attributed to an aversion to contentment than a will toward it.

Will we hide in the shadows or will we stand up and do this? The Earth, she needs us and I fear that only we, the entheogenic community know the truth, only we know the true extent of humanitys diconnection from nature, from each other...

Before one can stand, one must first learn to maneuver. Nothing can be accomplished by standing up to the swing of an axe. As soon as truth is claimed it is lost, the word itself wreaks of lies. The entheogenic community is but a branch of an extremely disjointed human sense of spiritual and existential longing and rebellion.

amor_fati,

That was a really good post, as if you were reading my mind and typed it down.

It seems to me that people more then often forget that our agressiveness is part of our nature. One can even think of the fact that without this aggresive "ambition" a peacefull state is not possible, after all, each inidividual will do just the things to survive whatever that is and without direct respect to other beings.

The first thing I learned from aya journey's was the fact that there is no good or evil, things just are, if you like it or not. You can abstract it to a chaos and respect factor, both of which cannot exist without the other. It's all about balance and nature is VERY good at keeping things in balance, often with seemingly boundless violence.

We humans are just part of nature, we might not like it and think we should do it different but in the end that is all part of the game of balance.

I think that 'Coatl's initial post was very important to the people who use entheogens as their "sacrament" whether or not these same people believe in deities, are atheistic or find themselves somewhere in limbo. I considered myself firmly atheistic and scientific up until a few extremely potent mushroom experiences where I found myself (terrified and humbled)gazing upon the face of god. After which I regained my (not as firm)atheism. I know that I have had delusions during extremely powerful mushroom experiences, lsd on the other hand never "lied" to me but I do know people who have believed things were happening that weren't on lsd. Anyway, I've learned enough from psychedelic experiences to know how little I truly know. I have learned more about the nature of existence from the psychedelic experience than from anything else and therefore believe that entheogens are a fundamental critical part of my religion or religious experience and therefore should be protected by the Constitution. I have had to hide my religious beliefs in my own nation because of fear of persecution from my own government. If I made my religious beliefs known I would be subject to the loss of my job and the ability to provide for my family. What 'Coatl is talking about is standing up for one's beliefs so that future generations won't be persecuted for theirs. I also have been taught by entheogens about the Paradox of existence that amor_fati and The Traveler are bringing out. What we do here on our little planet is of the utmost importance but is also totally insignificant in the larger scheme of things. If our little speck of a planet orbiting one of the hundreds of billions of stars in one galaxy of the hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe were to be vaporized it would be no different than what is happening to countless billions of planets in the universe at any given time. I am heartened by the success that people are having claiming entheogen use for religious purposes and hope that forums like this will bring like minded people together to stand together to defend their unalienable right to follow their best path to fully experience and learn everything they can about this gift of existance.

gracious respect for the integrity of Being to choose to speak freely and directly from the self. All of the posts above are very moving, and thought provoking. This forum does wonders in casting away feelings of loneliness in the universe.

I now know the purpose of this thread...

Thank you to everyone that posted.

Most here would agree it's a fundamental right to consume whatever you like as long as nobody else is hurt. The laws are criminal... yeah it's frustrating, I don't know anyone who did spice, my friends are curious but it's impossible to really get the message across, the preconceptions are just too strong. So, the Nexus is invaluable!

'Coatl, isn't it weird that all your posts say 666 posts? Who are you?? ;)

I noticed that too, but now I have 667 posts, so it's all good!

Don't worry... I'm not Satan.

Perhaps this can be the "Venting Thread"?

Well put. I agree with your level of frustration. I to feel the need to express similar feelings to those who dont accept what I do when I do. Raves to be exact which is way different. But everyones opinion should be respected because everyone is partially correct no matter what they do. So fuck em, love em, its all the same.

Oh, there is 'good' and 'evil'. But not in the biblical sense. You can clearly say that some things are wrong. It may not be evil in the sense that those comitting things that causes suffering truly are aware of what they do, but it's still wrong.
That we can be agressive and cruel on the other hand is indeed a consequence of our moral nature.
What makes us human is that we have these feelings. These feelings are the basis of all our functioning and we are not able to neglect or change them. Therefore they ought to be respected. This is because you cannot want them not to be respected; all that you would want, all that you CAN want, think, rationalize is in the end being dictated by what you feel. When your feelings are not being respected, when someone causes you to suffer there's no way you can think of it as being right and there's no way you can not care about it.
So of all that you simply HAVE TO care about, it would be a mistake not to care about.
The biggest problem here is to prove that we not only have to care about ourselves, but about others as well.
Yet every description of morality somehow involves caring for others whether it's on the level of our personal relationships, on the level of dealing with people we come into contact with, with who we don't have parsonal relationships, or whether it''s on the level of governments and how they govern; it all involves care in some way.
In the end i think it doesn't need to be proved because we're not trying to convince those who do not already feel this way somehow.

By the way, the number of the beast isn't 666 but 612. Stephen fry told said this on 'interesting questions' so it must be true.
