Ibogaine in Star Jasmine????

Migrated topic.
I've had this one on my radar for years and I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't buy a plant or two already over a decade ago when they were right in front of me. 😑

It very beautiful plant, I suggest you buy at least one even if you do no experiments with it. It just has some nice rainforest vibe to it.
I took your suggestion and bought one as a birthday present for my mother earlier this year. Now it's a matter of remembering to take some photo's next summer, as well as possibly some phytomedicinal specimen material.

I have access to an absolute truckload of star jasmine and my parents had star jasmine growing at our house when I was a kid. I remember eating a leaf maybe once but it didn't taste so nice and contains a kind of latex, which is normally a sign to be careful imo. I'd be interested in seeing what a extraction could yield.

Glad I came across this thread!
I have a variegated Trachelospermum jasminoides on a trellis. Might experiment with it.

@Volshebnik are you familiar with the effects of T. iboga? At low doses it's an adaptogen and in Africa they use it traditionally for hunting. It increases energy, focus and alertness. It also helps them stay awake during night vigils and reduce hunger and thirst.
So not quite the sedating effect you describe from the smoked TJ.

I'm doing a simple A/B iboga TA extraction (vinegar soaks, reduce volume, basify with ammonia) as I type these words.

It looks like the (apparently mildly) toxic compounds in TJ are glycosides, and their solubility is not affected by pH much, so the simple A/B extraction would remove them?
They're not that soluble in water, so the acid soak shouldn't pull much of them to begin with. In the basic soup they could crash out in the presence of an NPS (which is not used here) or a higher ionic strength than dilute ammonia provides.
