I’m new so hopefully I asked my question correctly Can the acid stage get to hot? It was almost boiling.

No boiling DMT in slightly acidic water is no problem, think about it, Ayahuasca is boiled for several hours with no issues.

100g Illinois bundle flower 1/2 cup vinegar 2cups distilled water

Half a cup of vinegar is unnecessary.. you only need a ph of around 4. Measuring water isn't necessary either, but you aren't using enough for 100g of material IMO. Dilution is your friend in the initial boils. If you only use a tiny amount you'll end up with some of your alkaloids trapped in your plant material as it will hold some of your solution. Dilute it more and you won't have this issue. Then you can just reduce your solution to a workable volume after your boils.
