In need of advice! What tek is best in my situation?

Okay so in my country naphtha is quite hard to come across, so I've bought hexane. I've found caustic soda (lye) in the supermarket. MHRB literally grows on tree over here . I can't use any heating element atm and I'm very limited on the freezing element (I'll try to avoid it).

What TEK would you recommend me do? and will it work well with the hexane?

Hexane can absolutely be used in place of naphtha.

I'd suggest any one of the following teks for you.

Cyb's 'MAX ION' tek
Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek
Vovin's tek
Noman's tek

If you cant use any heat or freezing to break down the bark, either powder it or leave it soaking in a strong caustic soda solution for up to a week. This applies to any of the STB type teks listed by dreamer. Also do an evaporation test on your hexane to make sure it doesnt leave a residue.

how do I do the evaporation test?


I've been pulling straight goo so far using a method someone told me about. I hope i get so pretty crystals soon. is there anyway to make the current goo I have to crystals? or nawh?

if you have a place your tray can be undisturbed try scraping and spreading the goo daily for a week or so. In my experience with ACRB goo it will eventually harden and crystallize. I have coaxed goo into a powder but it took patience. Humidity can slow it down. If goo is all you get then infusing leaf is just fine. I think sometimes fats etc trap some solvent and since you are evaporating instead of freeze precipitating this process will help you be sure to get the nasties out.

how do I do the evaporation test?

Pour some of your solvent onto a clean, dry plate (not plastic or paper obviously). Let it evaporate. Check for any residue.
