I'm deeply worried about the situation in india. It has always been a country with cosmopolitan traits as well as tensions around religion, poverty and extreme income unequality.
Contrary to the saying 'and never the two shall meet', i find that western and indian civilization have much in common and are very alike. In a globalized world, with a declining influence from the west, india would be an important country. As well for the west as for the spread/representation of democracy in the rest of the world.
It's democracy being healthy and stable is of vital importance for the future of our globalized world.
